  1. Side view mirrors! Any aftermarket replacements for 2023 Hybrid?

I love the mirrors on my Focus. Integrated blind spot mirrors work perfectly. Mirrors can be adjusted to take over as object leaves rear view mirror and still be used to back into parking spaces while watching parking space line on passenger side. My XL will not come with the integrated blind...
  2. How rough is your current vehicle?

2012 Focus with 200K miles with CEL because the gas gauge sending unit isn't sending. I use the tripometer to gas up at 350 miles. Sun has burned the paint off the top of the side rear view mirrors. All other paint is good. Headlights are pretty yellow, almost brown. A/C is intermittent so...
  3. Happy Days Are Here Again!

Mine was scheduled for production 8/5 (Saturday) and today changed to "in production". No window sticker yet. Now expecting it to be back to "scheduled" any time now.
  4. Tin can body

I used to have a 72' Volvo station wagon. Got into a conversation about the car with another owner of the same car. Told me they hit a piece of semi tire debris with theirs and it totaled it. That Volvo was a tank.
  5. Why are so many Mavericks getting rear ended?

I've been in 7 minor accidents in the last 25 years. None my fault. All me getting rear ended while stopped at red lights and once stopped at a crosswalk with pedestrians in it. Two of the 7 were the vehicle behind me getting rear ended and pushed into me. Three different vehicles, 2 Nissan...
  6. Cracked Brake Pads and Warped Rotors

Add driving style to that list. Take the two footed (one on the gas, one on the brake) for example. Until I trained the wife she could wear out front brakes in 5K miles.
  7. Calculations to help your Hybrid vs. EcoBoost Maverick decision

Can someone confirm it drives if the HV battery is toast? I thought reverse was electric only.
  8. In what ways has your Maverick EXCEEDED expectations?

Within a few days of the email showing build week of 7/31/23 the tracker showed a build date of 8/4/23. If it gets pushed I will be shopping for an EB off a lot this fall. Current Focus A/C is limping and I'm not putting $ in it. Can't put up with that for long in Tucson.
  9. In what ways has your Maverick EXCEEDED expectations?

    1. The fact that it apparently is getting built. XL Hybrid w/trailer hitch, ordered 9/17/22, scheduled for production 8/3/23. The odds were pretty low. I really planned on buying an EB off the lot this fall. Whoo Hoo!!!
  10. Adjusting AFE Bias - 5000 miles of Data from my Hybrid Maverick

I don't have Mav yet to test with but on my Focus over a single tank the computer and manual calculations can be over or under each other by several MPG. But over 5 tanks they are within tenths of an MPG of each other. Like spot on. Just saying before changing AFE settings you may want to...
  11. Cracked Brake Pads and Warped Rotors

You don't need a hybrid to get 100K out of brake pads. I got 125K out of the fronts and 190K out of the back brake pads on a 2012 Focus. Just don't tailgate. That makes all the difference.
  12. Using a dongle to eliminate the need for plugging your phone?

I'm going to use this solution. $57 and 15 minutes for wireless charging in an XL. Sold!
  13. When Will You Take Delivery of Your Maverick? Win A Gift for Your Truck!

Atlas Blue XL Hybrid w/hitch (unicorn?) ordered 9/17/22, set for build day of 8/3 (week of 7/31). Hoping to pick up in Sept. since shipping to Tucson from Hermosillo isn't far. So should be one year from order to delivery. Really expected to be shopping for an EB off a lot this fall so this...
  14. 📬 4/13/23 Scheduling Email Received Group [EMAILS NOW ARRIVING!]

That makes sense. I didn't bother to do the math and see the date was within that week. Lesson learned. Don't take the label "week of" literally since it should be "day of". Thanks!
  15. 📬 4/13/23 Scheduling Email Received Group [EMAILS NOW ARRIVING!]

I got an email 6/15/23 that my truck was scheduled for week of 7/31. The tracker only showed "order confirmed" until I checked this morning and now reporting scheduled for week of 8/3. I'm not complaining but I'm surprised I didn't get an email concerning that change. Edited to correct...
  16. Hybrid Gas Tank Filler Door

In the manual the first step is to "Switch the ignition on." I don't have mine to test but I suspect it's not opening with the manual release unless the ignition is on.
  17. Anyone drive their hybrid in low?

I can't argue with that point and have thought about that before. 200K and no sign of clutch issues. I guess my shifting/clutch technique must be OK. Here's hoping she holds up until the Mav arrives (set for production 7/31). I'm more worried about the weak A/C and Tucson summer...
  18. Storing hybrid for 2-3 months

A PDF of the manual only has this on Page 316 and 319 Your link at least gives a time frame of 30 days. Well done! We recommend that you disconnect the negative battery cable terminal from the battery if you plan to store your vehicle for an extended period. "extended period"? What is that...
  19. Anyone drive their hybrid in low?

Even driving a 2012 Focus (5 spd) I tend to slow by shifting gears and not hitting brakes (so no brake lights). I'm embarrassed if I need to use my brakes on the freeway unless traffic has come to a stop suddenly. That means I was not paying attention. On my commute (14 miles) I will hit my...
  20. Anyone drive their hybrid in low?

Page 183 of owners manual. L is recommended for towing with EB or Hybrid. LOW (L) - GASOLINE In low (L) your vehicle holds low gears. Note:We recommend using this mode for driving on hilly or mountainous roads or when towing a trailer. See Towing a Trailer (page 267). LOW (L) - HYBRID...
