  1. 2025 Car Wash Experience

My '23 Lariat has been hand washed, touchless washed and gone through the 'full-meal-deal' wash and the paint still looks flawless. Surprisingly, it's one of the best paint jobs I've had on a vehicle, and I've owned 15-20 different vehicles from 7 different manufacturers over the yeas ;)
  2. Why didn’t I figure this out sooner !!!

"Prepare for the worst and hope for the best" ;)
  3. Why didn’t I figure this out sooner !!!

Smart! I picked up a piece of scrap iron (it's about 8' X 8" X 1/4") from a local welders shop years ago and it has transferred from vehicle to vehicle over the years ever since I had to change a flat in the Texas summer heat and the jack base just pushed right through the asphalt into the...
  4. Backup camera fix Recall is out now

So this back-up camera issue is just on certain builds, not all Mav's, correct?
  5. Easiest way to remote start Truck (alternative to App)

The Auto start feature on the FOB was split off into a second part of the driver assist package. At the time I was waiting for my truck to be built (ordered Nov 4, 2021 and took delivery of my '23 on Jan 14 2023), this extra feature was considered a "constraint" to getting built along with many...
  6. Bedcover recommendations - Must open with tailgate up

Undercover used to make a one-piece that opened with the tailgate up, but i don't think they make if for the Maverick. The only thing I can think of is a soft snap-down cover. Does not secure anything, and "kinda" keeps the rain off of your stuff ;) Best of luck!
  7. Crash & Totaled. Unibody Bent

I do this in higher speed situations when the traffic flow was 50+ mph and traffic slows quickly. Do it in poor weather conditions too .
  8. Question for Long Time Owners - Driving with Rear Seat Up

I would never in my life have even thought about that. Scat in those storage compartments would just be projectile missiles in a crash 💥
  9. Question#1: Do you rely exclusively on the oil quality control to know when to change your oil?

If you follow the oil life remaining monitor on the truck, you will be legally protected from engine failure due to oil quality failure from Ford because you followed their recommendation. If you want to keep the truck for more than 100K plus miles and run the recommended hybrid synthetic oil...
  10. Removing the Telematics void the warranty?

Or better yet, replace the "good" fuse with a "blown" fuse and "Voila!", issue covered ;)
  11. How long should the battery of the combination keypad last?

Ten years sounds about right it it does have a battery. The TPMS sensors last about 10 years too.
  12. 22 & 23 Lariat windshields cracking

Thankfully, no. Almost sounds like the windshield frame is not aligned properly if you've had three do the same thing??
  13. Replacement Tires - widest quietest recommendations?

The Falkens on mine are surprisingly quiet at 22K.
  14. Dial Shifter

Are you and the Mrs. trying out some new Kama Sutra positions ;)
  15. Hauling 5'x5' plywood sheets

Can't say I've ever dealt with 5x5 plywood sheets. Only 4x8x(1/4-1/2"). But yeah, just lean them up against the left or right bed rail and strap'em down.
  16. Heated steering wheel times out

Thank goodness it does shutdown, otherwise it may just combust. Mine gets really hot, but like my bun warmer, I only need it on for a few minutes before it gets uncomfortable. "Disclaimer" - I live in Texas, and cold snaps don't usually last long. It can be 10 degrees on Monday, and 90 on...
