  1. 🎬 Test drive review video! Maverick Hybrid and Ecoboost - Handling, Acceleration, Suspension, Brakes, Interior

lol you people overthink things. noone cares about any of this stuff and 99.9 percent of people dont even know maverick exists and wont until they see them driving around (if they even notice then, hell i wouldn't notice if Hyundai or whoever had a new car out). we're "too close to it". But...
  2. First drive reviews coming Oct. 5 for 2022 Maverick when embargo lifts!

Personally I've grown to despise the snobbiness of reviewers in all fields. They see/review everything, so naturally they gravitate only towards the highest end products and trim levels. I saw a dude reviewing the 48k Ford Ranger Tremor and he was literally complaining about how the buttons...
  3. Hybrid Maverick orders will not be scheduled until further notice - per dealer bulletin

Technically true isn't it? Plus the ecoboost is really good value, it's only +1k right? Now if you want the hybrid fuel economy thats another story. The Maverick is still offering really good value compared to any other truck available. Of course, pending reliability which we wont know till...
  4. Common problems - Are you concerned?

Quote I found on reddit "Here's the deal. Mechanics everywhere are seeing this buildup with direct injected engines yet have absolutely failed to articulate how it's an issue (anecdotal cases of plugged intakes not withstanding). If this were a problem needing fixed it would have come up long...
  5. Thinking ahead -- Are the batteries in the hybrid consumer replaceable?

mileage seems the incorrect assessment since batteries also majorly degrade over simple time even if just sitting there, unlike Ice engine. sure, you might be able to stack 100k-200k miles on within a couple years, but long terms is another story. i also doubt batteries are getting any cheaper...
  6. 2.0L EcoBoost Maverick under hood & engine detailed

I'm sure you'll refute this but in general washing your engine is a bad idea. Too much risk of getting water in sensors, computer chips or components. Also unnecessary. But I guess it's a way of life for you so you do you lol.
  7. For the love of XL, show me the inside!!

So, better? Edit:Judging by above post, oh year, looks way better. I'll be choosing XL if I get a Mav for cost reasons anyway, so that's nice.
  8. Official 2022 Maverick Window Sticker for 2.0L AWD 4K Tow – 22 / 29 / 25 EPA MPG

Who cares. I'll be using 87 like always. I'm pretty sure the torque and HP will be fine. Never have used high octane waste of money unless actually required.
  9. Alto Blue Lariat FX4 Maverick Trainer Pics. Lots of Measurements / Dimensions Taken

I figured the main advantage would be if I have a flat on a busy weekend, I can put the full size on and continue living life for a few days until I can get to a tire shop. With the small tire I'd be kinda worried about safety especially if EG, my plans had me doing 70 on a interstate. Never...
  10. I'm not in a position to be pressured 🙂

Maybe I'm naïve but I feel partial to the dealers that have good ratings via Google or Cars.com etc. like 4.5/5 stars or higher. I feel like people have spoken, that that's a fair dealer, and they will probably try to protect that rating because it's likely a big deal to them too. I'm not sure...
  11. Chip Shortage

Plus, they dont file EEOC lawsuits. It's currently hard to get Americans to work at ANY wage. I went to a jack in the box the other evening and it had a sign on the drive through saying "closed for the day, what time we close each day depends on if we can get anybody on night crew to come in"...
  12. Ford Protect Extended Service Plans

Ehh, just one anecdote but my brother has a 90 something Nissan pickup thats been nothing but problems. Whereas my 08 Canyon from that font of problems GMC, has been greatly reliable, granted, the prior gen Canyon/Colorado have developed a solid reputation on the reliability front over the...
  13. See what each 2022 Maverick trim level adds / subtracts with interactive spreadsheet tool

I didn't see mention of the skid plates in the Fx4 package at all. Maybe I just missed it. I'd like skid plates, since the truck rides so low and seems to have a fat unprotected exhaust pipe just waiting to get smushed under there, but I also want to keep the sticker down and stay with the XL...
  14. Chip Shortage

I will say I dont know the details, but it seems to me GM/Ford got hit hardest, vs some importers etc. If that's the case, then part of the blame lies on them for poor planning, and not thinking about contingency plans. It doesn't surprise, neither seem particularly well managed (especially GM)
  15. Chip Shortage

I have heard of a lot of this particularly with for example Mexicans, females, that may not know the language, getting all kinds of expensive garbage tacked onto their car by the dealers. I frankly find that sad. It's like anything else, there's good and bad car salesmen I'm sure. I also am...
  16. 🔋 Hybrid Maverick Lux Showing 34.5 MPG and 1,478 Lbs Payload Sticker

That battery its only a matter of time till it's gone. I drive a 08 Truck with no problems.. The battery isn't likely to last 13 years, and I expect mine to run many more years still (it purrs). Batteries aren't just degraded by miles, but also by the calendar (actually known as "calendar...
  17. Anyone reconsidering their order / purchase?

Not hearing good things about the wireless charger. I dont think it supports many watts and I wonder if it even supports todays common bigger phones. Personally I thought it was awesome first but after some posts about i wouldn't count on it being useful as a charger at all. Someone please...
  18. Anyone reconsidering their order / purchase?

Prices on everything BUT the Maverick are insane.
