Was wanting something easier to get into than our Tundra. Went to local Ford dealer on a Saturday, asked what they had in a smaller truck, asked what the difference was between the Ranger and Maverick, "Maverick is lower," looked at a few, drove home that morning with our new 2024 EB. Last...
I understand the engine braking, but why would it shift to a much lower gear a few minutes after shifted into L, which already shifted it to a bit lower gear. I don't need the engine revving like crazy, just want a little engine braking. I wish I could select the lower gear instead of the...
I've tried using "L" when going down a mountain near us on my EcoBoost, and it works nicely for a while, then it downshifts to a very low gear causing very high RPMs. I don't understand why it does this. On our RAV4 I can select the gear that I want, so I can gently hold back some speed.
Got my Maverick back from Ford service to fix the A/C -- failure was not a Ford failure -- had a stray (cute) kitten coming around the past few days, and evidently he was sleeping in the engine compartment. When I started down our driveway, he got caught up in the A/C compressor belt and...
We had an older Yellow Lab who was in failing health. At first he'd put his front paws up on the door sill, then look back at me with the "okay, I'm ready for you to help me the rest of the way," then later I just had to pick him up and lift him into our Tundra. I really miss that boy!
I had an 80 VW Rabbit that the A/C drain got plugged. I ran a wire up the tube to clear it, and water ran out for over half an hour. I couldn't believe how much water was backed up in the core.
The worst turning radius I've experienced was our 91 Lumina. It'd take a 4-point turn anywhere. The best is our 20 RAV4; I'm always surprised how sharp it turns.
Many years ago I had a 67 Camaro which I sold (for $950.00, which I thought was a great deal at the time!) when our first son was born. Wishing I still had that car ever since.
Your Firebird looks gorgeous!
You should try accessing the fuses on a '75 Corvette. They are tucked way up behind the dash, behind a bunch of wiring and other stuff. I can't even see the fuse panel. When a fuse blows, I have my mechanic change it. I have no idea how he can get up in there!
I'm very happy with my 2024 EB. Only have 1000 miles on it so far (only had it 2.5 months). Wife complains we never take the RAV4 when we go out, because I prefer driving the Maverick.
I only wish I had gotten the predictive cruise control like we have on the RAV4.
Just to the left of the MPH display there is a symbol with a star in the middle of it. This appears when the select button is pressed, and goes away after a few minutes. What is this showing?
I have just under 1000 miles on my 2024 EB. One thing I'm impressed with is the A/C. Getting in the cab on a hot sunny day, and the cab cools off almost instantly. Our RAV4 is a great car, but seems to take a few miles before the car's inside cools off.
Is everyone else's experience similar...
