I have a '24 Lariat Hybrid that was delivered in January. I did 2 trips to my cabin in up north Wisconsin in late April, early May. My wife and i, truck bed loaded, under the tonneau cover and luggage in back seat.
About 400 miles round trip, 90% on highway at 70-75 mph, using ACC.
Trip 1...

I've had my Mav Hybrid since Jan 30th, 2500 miles. no issues other than 2 explainable "deep sleep/ battery saver" warnings.
#1, on the day I picked up and setup FordPass. Truck was stuck in shipping for 2 1/2 months. (Built Nov 16, '23). I assume the battery was a little low!
#2, out of town...
Maybe I'm being anal, but here's my issue.
I picked up my Maverick on Jan 30th and setup the Fordpass and everything is working good. I really like my truck. A few weeks ago, I used my computer to log into my account on the Ford.com website and looked at my account. (Not the Fordpass app on my...
You may want to look at this thread I created. Build an underbody shield to protect the left rear area. There are other threads out there on the same subject. Seems like Ford forgot to cover the left side, the right side on my Lariat is fully protected...
While waiting for my Maverick to be built, I purchased a Motorola M1A (dohickey). I plugged it into a USB port on my PC, hit the pair button on the M1A and paired my phone to it. When my Mav was finally at home,, I just plugged in the M1A and hit the Android Auto on my screen and followed...
I started this thread back in early February after I took delivery of my Maverick and saw the same cavity others had posted about.
Today, I drove my Mav in its first rain, slush and snow mix. When i got home, i had to crawl under the left rear and take a look. IMO ( In My Opinion), the shield...
I have the Orion Motors (O/MT) that I got on Amazon for $22. It drops about 1/3 before catching. I thought that was normal until reading this post. The DeeZee is $37 and from what others are saying, catches immediately. Too late for me to return it, so I'll wait for when it needs replacing and...
I don't have mud flaps, but I did add a a piece of plastic sheet to fill in that void, similar to your picture. That and my underbody shield should provide some good protection for the left rear quarter panel
Just my guess; I think Ford didn't put one of their cardboard underbody shields on the left side because of the proximity to the exhaust pipe. That's why I used metal sheeting.
Replying to some of the posts:
1) I added a few new measurements to help with the rounded side.. starts at 13", then to 12 1/2" and finally 11 1/2". See picture.
2) Someone posted that it already looks like rust on the underbody. That was just dirt. It wiped right off. The shield should...
Take the information on the Tracker with a grain of salt. Calling Ford Marketing or talking to your dealer will get you more accurate information.
I read MTC regularly and saw this post. I decided to check the tracker. My order still shows Shipped status.
Weird thing is, I've been driving...
I went the full 23" to cover the entire cavity. If you look on the passenger side, it is completely covered, at least on my Lariat. Plus, it gave me an anchor point for my shield.
I have a piece of black pvc plastic that I was going to use, but a friend gave me the sheet on galvanized metal. The shield is about 1 1/2" from the exhaust pipe. Not sure how hot it gets.
Also, I did not undercoat anything yet. I may take off the shield this summer and do a little...
There are some other, older threads on this subject, but I can't seem to find them. So, I decided to start a new one (this got a little long, sorry !). This concerns the large, open underbody cavity behind the left rear (drivers side ) tire. You need to crawl under your truck to see the issue...
I ordered my '23 Mav Lariat Hybrid on 9/17/2022, did a rollover to a 2024 on 7/17/2023. Finally picked it up on 1/30/2024. Not sure of the exact days, but that's over 16 months of waiting.
I'm loving it so far. Playing with all the options and changing settings to the way i prefer.
Also...
My 2024 (rollover MY23) Mav finally showed up at the dealer and I picked up on Jan 30th. My final wait was 17 months or 500+ days. And 2 1/2 months in shipping.
Dealership was great. They notified me when it was on their lot and we setup a delivery date. Everything went smooth.
Love this little...
