The (worthless) article mentions absolutely NOTHING about the "Next gen Maverick" (being very important to Ford).
It also appears to be more than a year old.
Radar detectors are not just handy to prevent speeding tickets, they also often alert to police presence in city or rural traffic - for example, coming up to a Stop sign or right turn on a red light, an alert can "remind" you to make a 100% complete stop - years ago I got nailed for a...
Well I think Ford should offer original owners a service manual at no charge. Being that they need to produce them for technicians anyway, it would not cost them anything more to offer PDF versions of the manual. And considering the constant hefty price increases over the years it would be a...
I would say good luck finding a glass company that would install a new windshield without requiring the calibration. Furthermore, it's very unlikely that an insurance company would approve a claim for just the glass replacement.
Wow, that's unbelievable!! Just curious, have you looked up their Google or other reviews? Based on your experience I would think they would have a lot of negative reviews.
My Kicker amp is set to 120Hz for the bypass filter, suggested by a tech who evaluated my install. Note that I have not changed any settings via Forscan.
Yes, I would move the Key and put it above the glovebox. I would leave it "loose" until you adjust all of the settings. And of course move the sub to behind the rear passenger seat. For the harness, get the version with the subwoofer harness (Kit 11-2). I put together an illustrated PDF document...
The "cut/hack wires" install method is the main reason that I did not want to use a shop, plus I wanted complete control over the install myself (especially removing/installing the trim) and importantly I wanted to be able to easily "reverse" the install in the future should I sell or trade-in...
The harnesses that come with the key are open-ended, a connector on one end to go to the amp, and bare wires on the other end. They do NOT "plug in" to the factory stereo/wiring - they can't directly plug into to the stereo as there are endless vehicle wiring variations.
It sounds like they did not use a custom harness, which is surprising, makes the install so much easier, especially if they would have used a harness with the 4-wire subwoofer connections.
I would take a look behind the center trim to see how they tapped into the factory radio harness. A custom...
I, for one, would not trust myself, nor anyone else, to perform "self alignment" on something as important as the camera.
And due to liability reasons, I would assume many or most shops would not replace a windshield without performing the alignment.
I just had the windshield replaced on my 2022 XLT due to a large rock ship. Fortunately I only had to pay a $100 deductible, as the bill came to just over $1,000. The camera alignment portion was $275.00.
There are MANY factors that have played into the continuing successful sales of the Maverick, the goofy front design was certainly not on the list.
In fact, sales would have been even HIGHER had they not ruined the front end.
One can only hope that the rookie designer(s) of the repulsive refresh are no longer working at Ford and that they have taken jobs at Toyota or Hyundi.
