Had a family member have the brakes go completely - totally - out...
Totally agree. Drove a 2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid AWD (Ford Escape) until trading it in for the 24 Lariat Mav. Loved that little car, save one very scary bad-brake-wiring experience when it was 18 months old. No one hurt, and Ford took very good care of us, so no complaints. Only had one other...
Lawn mower threw a rock that chipped the bottom of ours last week. Two gigantic cracks crossing most of the windshield. Truck less than 1000 miles on it. Grrrrr….!
Concur on the advantages of a hybrid. Drove a 2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid for 14 yrs and 105K miles before trading it on the 24 Mav Lariat hybrid. Only one (serious) issue with the Mariner - brake wiring failure at 18 months. Totally blessed that no one got killed as the brakes went out totally...

Can you amplify that a little? I rear ended a lady in a McDonalds drive through when I couldn't stop the car. It seemed like it wanted to just accelerate into her. Being brand new to it, I didn't...
