Its a race for market share. If traditional auto makers can switch over there production to EV they can win or survive. Building the factories to build the cars in volume is the hard part. You also need vehicles consumers want and can afford.

Tesla is just starting to put lithium 12v batteries in for the accessories. They have same life cycle as main battery. Elon wants 48V or higher to run accessories but no one makes the switches and systems that run off of high voltage.

Part of the reason I wanted Lux was for spray in bed liner. I might have just order an XL. Sounds stupid as its only a fraction of the package but how I felt when ordering. I wanted spray in bed and trailer hitch. Also not sure the bed extender works with drop in liner.
