I have one of those on my rear door from being a little over-confident with my turn into the single-car garage. Really angered me at first, and after some horribly applied touch-up paint (my doing as well) I've come to accept it was a badge. Trucks get banged up and Mav is a truck, damn it...
If I could get a good deal on an SC Limited on a lease with a reasonable offer on my Mav, I'd probably swap. Cooled seats are something I'd be willing to swap for here . If the SC ends up being a piece of crap, back to the dealer it would go.
Given the price of this vehicle, I would not have expected anything more. If I still lived in cold/snow/ice/misery country, I would probably skip the Mav unless it was on a lease. "Built to last" doesn't seem to be this thing's M.O. But it should be good for a couple years anyway!
One of the main things I got the Maverick for was so I could get a bike and take it places. I hadn't owned a bicycle in close to 30 years but today that streak ended! Got a nice little tailgate pad on Amazon for about $40 and it worked great. It also occurred to me that this was the first time...
As for accessories, tailgate lettering and the center console bin from amazon have been my favorites so far. Stubby antenna too (though for aesthetics, can't speak for functionality).
Ordered mine end of July '21 and drove it home the first week of Feb '22. It felt like a long wait, but given the fact NO ONE could get a hybrid much before that, and how long others have waited since, I feel like I was given a gift,
I tried the APIM swap into my lariat lux... Just to get Nav. Probably would have worked, but I got discouraged after tearing apart my console, losing tools into the ether, and in general just not wanting to render my truck inoperable. Others have succeeded (and tried to help me do the same)...
Seems like the cost is somewhat negligible on this one. So I guess I'd consider whether or not the new vehicle is needed soon or if you can wait it out longer. I'd think anyone ordering a hybrid knows it's capabilities ahead of time and doesn't need the fx4.
At this point disregard any gains...
I've had my Maverick for almost a year and haven't done anything with it that couldn't have been done in the Civic hatchback I traded it in for. But it's nice to know I can do (small) truck stuff with it if I need to. That day will come soon :)
Resale value definitively won't be as it is much longer. If you need a vehicle, can afford this one, really like the Maverick in general (regardless of engine), and the dealer is offering sans-markup.... Go for it!
