I had this issue on my 2000 Ranger. The winter tires were 1 inch smaller. It delinitly changed my speedometer reading and racked up the odometer miles faster. I don't know if the Maverick would adjust to that difference.

Wrong--this is a fairly common issue. Accidentally put it in your back pocket and sit in a soft chair. I've set mine off numerous times. Put it in my front pocket and bend over, will set it off as well. I've had many key fobs, but none as sensitive as these.
