  1. 1st Battery Saver Mode since AGM Install

Please post when you get time. I haven’t bothered to do it after installed the AGM but would like to see if it’s worth my time! Thanks!
  2. 1st Battery Saver Mode since AGM Install

Turn off all connectivity. ALL of it. WiFi, FordPass, and whatever else nonsense you can find in the infotainment settings. Even updates. You’ll get them at the dealer at the next recall. I guess leave Bluetooth if you use it - I do not (USB CarPlay for me) so I even shut that down. Uninstall...
  3. 1st Battery Saver Mode since AGM Install

That’s the repair mode? Make sense but did not know that. To OP, if you are charging or tending - obviously you can just leave everything plugged in. NOCOs are particularly great because they are smart enough to know when to stop - so no risk of leaving it plugged in “too long”.
  4. 1st Battery Saver Mode since AGM Install

Didn’t ask me but definitely under the hood. Even when you jump. The only reason you go to the battery direct IMO is to replace it. Which is, by the way, a pain in the backside due to the tight space.
  5. 1st Battery Saver Mode since AGM Install

Eh. The cost of the AGM (that completely fixed it for me) was paid for in a few months of savings in petrol. 25Kish on the clock and average 40.8 MPGs. Even the battery tender I bought as insurance has been more than paid for by now. Remember that usually only people with issues post about...
  6. 1st Battery Saver Mode since AGM Install

Fair enough. I’m no expert but that was my understanding of what BSM is for and we may be saying the same thing. A “bonus / feature” in that it helps when battery is low or has been sitting. A “bug” in that drivers should not see it as much as they do (or ever), as the battery issues you...
  7. 1st Battery Saver Mode since AGM Install

Correct me if I’m wrong but: There isn’t anything “wrong” with battery saver mode. It was intended to do exactly what it is called - save the battery. It is supposed to come on when the battery is low OR when the battery has been sitting. It was intended as a feature. Not a bug. What is a...
  8. Tire recommendations

I just got SCORPION WEATHERACTIVE tyres. All weather but are snow rated. A 60K warranty. And I think they fit the slightly aggressive-look you are alluding to. Wait for Tire Rack to have a sale and you can get them for around $700 for four...
  9. Vehicle is Battery Safe Mode

Just so both-sides are represented for those that stumble on this thread later. Not to ignore your very real situation. I had four dead batteries (one a tow situation) in my first 10K miles. Lots of messages. I paid around $300 OTD (battery and install) for an AGM at my local mechanic. Drove...
  10. Vehicle is Battery Safe Mode

Totally agreed for you then. I had a total of four dead batteries. Two were just a case of getting out my jump pack. One of which would not even jump and had to be towed to dealer. Another jumped after a long delay and then my dashboard lit up like a Xmas tree - was then stuck in “limp mode”...
  11. Vehicle is Battery Safe Mode

Would love it if you did so I can compare. Please! But all the software updates (and even replacing my infotainment unit when they wrongly diagnosed that as the issue) did not stop the issue for me. An AGM did.
  12. Vehicle is Battery Safe Mode

This! Be ready for a few hours of reading though! The short is: You can do some maybe helpful but maybe not so helpful things like turn off connectivity to stop the drain. I did all this just to be safe. The best option is to put an AGM in there and reset the BMS. Ford will likely not do it...
  13. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

Again, totally your call. I just think I can solve this problem quicker and without all the hassle / time (which is also worth quite a lot). But if you “trust the process” and just want to make it a visible concern, I get it. Keep pushing for an AGM. Only thing that (fingers crossed) fixed...
  14. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

I hear you. Lower class upbringing tells me the same. But spending my time arguing with idiots, spending time waiting & driving, and still not getting the right solution - not worth it. Honestly, the same upbringing tells me I can do it better than them anyway.
  15. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

Just mentioning again that, while not ideal, people in this situation should weigh their time versus money. For about $250 you can put an AGM in yourself. Is it right that you have to come out of pocket? No. But no more trips to the dealer. No more arguing over a battery being “fine”.
  16. Fuel Consumption shocking

    Nah. Just from the dash.
  17. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

I hear you but trust me that I lobbied and I lobbied for an improved battery to no avail. Note that I came in showing two dead batteries! Maybe another dealer would have been more responsive but I was sick of it and just ate the $300.
  18. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

Around the same mileage (11K) I had the same issue. Worse in fact. Dead battery twice before but it jumped back up (I always carry a jump pack in all cars). This time it didn’t even jump. Ford will not put an AGM in. So I did it myself. I bought one from Rock Auto and had a local mechanic put...
  19. Fuel Consumption shocking

That’s not my experience. Of course it’s better in slow roll / stop and start situations. But still does well on highway. I have a 2024 Hybrid XL and just got 44 MPG on a medium trip (around 250 miles) which was 90% highway. I reset the counter at the gas station next to my house when taking...
  20. Has anyone ever regretted getting a XL?

The only thing better than having the practicality of a truck combined with awesome MPG making it a perfect daily driver is also driving around thinking about how I paid next to nothing for it but still have everything I need and more. Honestly, it makes me love the truck so much. I have a...
