I'm not expecting it to be the GTI, or even replace the GTI. I just want it to feel peppy, and this one didn't. I'm also curious if it was a one off with this one feeling sluggish. I did not notice that with the previous "not a test drive" test drive. That one seemed like I had to be...
Interesting, that's part of why I posted. I was curious if anyone had noticed the same thing. I didn't find anything when I tried to search it. It's nice to feel like I'm not the only one who noticed it. I hope as well that you don't have the same issues with the ActiveX. I like the Maverick, I...
That's pretty much where I am right now. Though I may still test drive my order when it arrives to be sure. I am also looking into alternative options, one of which may just be to do nothing
I'll certainly agree on the handling, it was one of the things I did like when driving the Maverick. I also really like the interior, both the design and the style (just not that one seat seams). I also like the exterior styling from the start, part of what made me interested in it.
I'm not...
It had 4800 miles on it when I returned it, and I didn't put many on it. Used it around town, and short runs on the interstate over 3 days
I also don't run premium in my GTI
This ended up being long, so I'm leading with the TLDR:
Rented a Maverick on Turo, experienced 3 issues which might be deal breakers for me:
Loud clicking/rattling noise from engine/engine bay
Sluggish acceleration, would say the engine seems anemic
Bottom seat cushion was uncomfortable...
I keep hoping that someone in the aftermarket creates a honeycomb grille for the XLT and Lariat two piece that allows keeping the grille bar. I don't particularly care about the Raptor style Ford lettering across the front, but I like the honeycomb grille look. If Ford ever makes an ST version...

It will have the blue, per the 2023 Order Guide the Navy Pier (blue) is used for all Mavericks. However the Order Guide also stated the XLT BAP seats would be Black which doesn't seem to be quite true. That said I will assume Ford will be lazy and keep the blue panels blue, especially as that...
They've made one comparison video with Tremor so far and it wasn't even a test but a walk around. We don't know what else they have planned. Also the video was comparing the off-road trim of two different trucks at different price points. The Santa Cruz doesn't have an off-road trim
Not just a long term, one of their staff just bought a 2023 Santa Cruz. They did a comparison recently of their long term 22 SEL Premium and the new 23 SEL and what you get at their different price points.
They have also already done a Maverick vs Santa Cruz off road comparison
edit: typo
I read it as only the first bullet applied to 22MY converted to 23MY (make sure they have the most priority), everything else reads as applying to any 23MY order. This seems to be confirmed by people who put in new 23MY orders and have already been able to make the change.
Potentially some of them. It puts them in the same EB pool which makes it bigger and some of the orders that switch over might end up getting built earlier than existing EB orders based on the way Ford selects and schedules builds.
There is literally a message center that dealers have access to. Here is one shared from another user (93nighthawk) today after someone said their dealer denied hearing about the new memo
Based on the dealers who are active here and in other Maverick groups. The issue isn't a communication issue from Ford to dealers, but dealers needing to be actively engaged and paying attention. Ford can't make dealers read memos. We know things here as soon as Ford sends out a communication...
We don't know how much an EV Maverick would share with its ICE and Hybrid siblings. I don't think it replace either initially, Ford has already said they intend to have a range of Mavericks. Hybrid and Ice are likely just the start.
Ride share rental companies? I don't see a Maverick appealing...
Sync4 is already the outgoing tech. Ford is supposed to be integrating the Android Automotive OS (not to be confused with Android Auto) soon instead of Blackberry QNX that Sync4 runs on. Looks like they have delayed it until late 2023. Will it be better than Sync4? Who knows at this point, but...
This doesn't have any bearing on Maverick production as this was coming from their EV division, and while they might even be working on an EV Maverick there is a good chance that won't be built with the ICE Maverick in Hermosillo as Ford has said they plan for most/all EV production to be in the...
I mean they said they didn't want a Flex, yet described an enclosed C2 platform SUV the size of the Maverick, which is pretty much the same length as a Flex. They also mentioned an Outback which is about midway between the length of an Escape and a Maverick
