  1. Hybrid thoughts

I had a '22 Hybrid that I replaced with a '24 Eco and yes, you do need to drive differently if you want to get the maximun mileage benefit. To do that you need to stay in electric mode as much as possible on short trips. There are dashboard indicators that you can display to tell you when you...
  2. Rattles, Knocks, Vibrations, and other annoyances

I had the opposite effect. 2024 XL. Dash rattle started after about six months. Goes away in the summer and comes back in the winter. Doesn’t bother me anymore.
  3. This trim seal strip seems to have fixed my dash rattle.

And waste more time? No thanks. There are times you cut your losses. A seasonal rattle is one of them.
  4. This trim seal strip seems to have fixed my dash rattle.

My rattle goes away in the summer. Tried this last winter and it helped for a few days and then made no difference. I had the TSB done last winter and it made it worse. Good luck.
  5. Ford Protect Extended Service Plan

Just use a friend or relative’s address in a state other than Florida or CA. The transaction is all done through email. Ford doesn’t care. They don’t even see the address of the warranty in their database, just a code number. You can call Granger to verify.
  6. One Time Grinding & Screeching Sounds

Thanks very much. It made me think a piece of metal like a a screw might have come loose in a wheel and then worked its way out. I had been in the mountains for about a week and mostly parked on dirt roads so a rock or some other object makes sense. The noise all happened in a parking lot so...
  7. One Time Grinding & Screeching Sounds

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have a 2024 XL. Less than a year and less than 4,000 miles. No issues or recalls. A couple of weeks ago I was in a remote area and drove a short distance to a store. Came out and started to drive away slowly in the parking lot and heard some...
  8. Oil changes - what 3rd party does yours?

Local Ford dealer for the reasons others have stated but mostly because they have a mobil service at no extra charge. The come to my house to do it. Plus they are familiar with the vehicle so they also check areas where they have seen issues on other Mavericks, like CV axles. Ask your dealer if...
  9. Warranty VS recalls

Best to contact your dealer for warranty questions like these. A forum member may give you their opinion with the best of intentions but that doesn’t mean your Ford dealer would agree. Contact your dealer or Ford Customer Service to be sure. I would suggest you do via email so you have their...
  10. Easily (fully) removable hard tonneau cover options?

This is the exact same cover as the Oedro. It is a generic cover marketed under multiple brand names. I have it on mine. You may need to add some extra insulation where the cover meets the back window sill because there can be some leakage, though minor. Takes about five minutes to take off, ten...
  11. Removing an item secured with 3M tape

I had luck using dental floss. Slow and careful but no damage done. In my case the 3M tape had only been on about 3 months which may make a difference.
  12. Anyone get a spray in liner from the dealer instead of the factory?

I used an independent shop recommended by my dealer as they aren’t set up to do that type of work. I doubt you can find a situation where you can use Ford points to pay.
  13. [How-To] Install & Program a Keypad for your Maverick

The Ford Accessories number will not tell you which dealers participate in your area. They will only explain how to find them on their website. Their number is 844-589-0060. Go to https://accessories.ford.com. Search for "keypad." The two options will display. Select the one you want and be sure...
  14. 2025 Keypads battery or wired?

The dealer doesn’t care where you put it. I had a dealer come to my house to program it and I hadn’t decided where I wanted it. A couple days later I put it on the trim above the gas tank. About a month later I decided to move it inside the gas cap door. It was easy to remove from the trim by...
  15. 2025 Keypads battery or wired?

When the wireless keypad came out for the Maverick I read something on a Ford site that the battery is expected to last an average of 8 years. I can’t find that article but I specifically remember the time frame as I purchased one after reading it. I will post if I can find it.
  16. Door key pad

https://accessories.ford.com You can buy the keypad from the Ford Accessories web site for $120.00. When you order it you will be asked what dealership you want it shipped to. Look through the drop down list to see if there is a dealer near you. The dealers in the drop down participate in a $24...
  17. Does Rotary Shifter suck?

Hate might be too mild. I detest it. I’ve been driving a Maverick for 18 months. When I first drove it I thought it was unique and I might like it. That lasted about a week. It is my only real complaint about the truck. There have been two times while driving that the shifter has changed on its...
  18. What does FordPass app do?

I used it for a short time and then disabled it, but it does have the ability to provide error codes if something goes wrong. If you call your dealer they will ask if for those error codes to help troubleshoot. I don’t believe the dealer can access those codes remotely without the app but...
