Out 3 mavericks my first significant complaint and a minor one with 2025.
First the major which is partly my fault I didn't want to spend much on bells and whistles so didn't opt for xlt luxury package......and non powered seats just seemed low to me.....end up buying $30 2inch cushion which...
Certainly seems alot of variances.
But I suspect most ecoboost owners are happy with 25+mpg in normal real world driving conditions such as actually going with flow of traffic at 70-80mph for a 4×4. I certainly have been.
And that most seeking 30+mpg under same real world driving conditions...
That's what I've always thought funny and contributes to success of maverick.......in relation to mentioning off road use.
Full size trucks increasingly seem built and advertised to hype "off road capability".........increasingly higher ground clearances making reaching into or climbing into...
Just know price wise last year got xlt turbo with lux, 4k tow and 360.
The 25 hybrid xlt i ordered is comparable in price........with dropping awd, LUX, and 4k tow. Think last year's was 33 something and this one 32. If I'd added awd, luxury, 4k tow this one would took the price over 36k
I make a 286 mi trip 2x a week. With 50ish other miles added a week.
My 23 lariet fwd hybrid consistently averaged around 34.6 combined.
My 24 turbo XLT awd has been averaging around 26.4.......
The 24 is just getting to 5k miles, so alot was break in period, it's been colder weather, and I...
The article is just going by average dealer markup over mrsp.
The markup comes from high demand because its a good value even with a premium markup......as well since there's reputable dealers not doing the mark up, the average markup is irrelevant to most educated buyers
I never had no problems with the 23 lariet in snow, at the time had an awd Kona too. The 24 awd did great in about foot a snow couple weeks ago.
But i also generally don't get out much till least blacktops are starting to get fairly cleared.
Yes mine is XLT with FWD and just copilot 360 option. I previously had 23 Lariet Hybrid with FWD.
Perhaps unique situation as traded 23 Lariet for 24 turbo with AWD and 4k tow. If I hadn't and wasn't planning on keeping the 24, I prob would went AWD on 25.
But I wanted to keep turbo as...
I ordered a 2nd Maverick recently, and got week march 3rd build date allready.
I ordered hybrid fwd, but have a 24 turbo awd maverick I'm keeping as well.
Reading forum seems most posts offering reviews or impressions are primarily AWD.
Admittedly the mpg difference is minor, 1-2 mpg. But...
I had it on my 23 Lariet. Actually used it quite a bit in mild weather. Can crack it and front windows for good air circulation.
Don't know if I'd spend much for it as option by itself.....but really was useful in nice weather.
The adaptive cruise only real thing I would liked liked to have from new lariet trim......but at 5k some difference compared to xlt with 360 package, just didn't seem worth the additional cost to me.
I was kinda surprised 23 lariet didn't have it as was top trim.....and adaptive cruise was...
Would add a couple observations of the two mavericks I've had so far.
I have a vacation house about 280 mi away from my primary house, split time in both most weeks so the 280 mile drive is quite frequent.
The 23 Lariet hybrid rather consistently maintained around 34.5 mpg combined average...
I normally have two autos, about a yr and half ago I got 23 lariet hybrid since was on lot...but not exactly what I wanted.....so at same time I ordered a 24 xlt awd as wanted turbo, awd and 4k tow, and love it. Traded 23 when custom order came in.
But honestly I loved the fwd lariet other then...
I don't know if build specifics matter much, but mine is 2.0 turbo xlt with AWD, 4K tow, and bout every xlt option
I know I was starting to get curious whether it would be filled as the 24 order, or get switched to 25
