Iāve had passengers in the back a number of times. More likely to have the dog cover in. Because of that I got a locking bed cover so I can put stuff back there and leave the back seat free for people or the dog, a lab mix, actually prefers our Highlander for more room
My experience has been that drop in liners tend to be slick (on an f150) so I had to get a rubber pad to keep stuff from sliding all over the place. I like the spray in with a rubber mat to prevent sliding and protect the knees.
Since getting a cover I have concluded that the extra weight may actually decrease mileage around town. On an extended road trip mileage doe increase somewhat.
In February we paid 32k for a 2024 Lariat eco boost with 9 K miles ā like new. IMO that was a decent price. Very satisfied. The Lariat was the only model that interested me.

However you cut it you are trying to pull something using a four cylinder engine. Get an f150 or at least a Ranger or Tacoma if you want to pull any RV
I got a Tomoka tri fold hard cover on my 24 Lariat eco boost and was advised to remove the rails. But when I got it on it was obvious the rail wouldnāt interfere so I put them back on
I think the factory system is just fine. But then my favorite groups are the Eagles and Bob Seger and I really done like cars next to mine at a light with THUMPING bass
