  1. Best Hood Bug / Rock Deflector?

How do people wash and wax their truck with a stick-on deflector installed? How do you get the dirt out from under it?
  2. Headlights

You realize that these are LED bulbs, right? They have a projected life of 30-50,000 hours of running time. They may burn out in about 100 years or so. Regarding the need for DRLs, I guess your eyesight must be much better than average. However, it has nothing to do with what you can see, but...
  3. Bump Step

The Weathertech bumpstep will do almost nothing in an accident. The hitch is directly mounted on the frame, and any impact with it will almost certainly deform the frame members. Frame damage in the rear makes it a writeoff, as each member costs US$24k to replace. If you're really worried...
  4. Headlights

You're kidding, right? Why would you ever turn off such a simple safety feature?
  5. Front door window tint to match factory rear window tint?

I assume that you are in Washington state, where max tint is 24% on the side windows and none on the front and back. Front tinting may look kewl to some weirdos, but its a pain in the ass in night driving. Also, a cop needs to clearly see your hands when he is at the window.
  6. Does anyone know the specs for the tailgate line screws?

Isn't it an M6 screw? There is nothing on the vehicle that is non-metric, so your measurement in English screw sizes are not going to work.
  7. Rear ended in my 2023 Lariat Tremor... Sub 1500 miles

These comments about making the rear end steel and the bumper stronger are interesting, but I doubt that anybody making these comments has ever talked to their insurance company. The primary insurance costs are not for the vehicle, but for people repair costs and liability payouts. Almost all...
  8. Bed Blanking Plate - 3D Printed for 12V Accessory Outlet

Nice! I ran down to the Kitchener Library and printed one for nothing. Took 30 minutes printing time and works great!
  9. Premium vs. Regular fuel data point

How come you bought a truck, when you really want a racecar? Doing a "pull" in a truck is not what they are built for, and they suck at it as a result.
  10. Private Offer for 2024 Maverick -- Ford dealer bulletin

That's the American-only offer. Where is the Canadian one?
  11. What if your hybrid gets totaled?

If you take a look on dealer lots, there may be some EBs available at very large dealerships and only with weird options, like XLT without the XLT-Lux option. There are literally no hybrids available. If you find one, they are $11k over MSRP.
  12. Tailgate soft close fix

Your soft-open shock is upside down. The strut goes to the bottom, not the top.
  13. 2024 Canadian orders

I was the first Customer in the door at my dealership on July 17th when the my24 rollover was supposed to happen. I talked to my dealer yesterday when the Canadian order bank actually opened, to go back and sign the paperwork for my my23-to-my24 replacement for my unbuilt order. He stated that...
  14. 2024 Canadian orders

My dealer told me no private offers in Canada. My XLT hybrid lux order is $4,700 more than the 2023, even with the major factory-deleted features and me deleting $1k of extras. Its definitely not a cheap truck anymore, and the Lariat is now about the same price as the much better equipped and...
  15. 2.0 EB and A/C in extreme heat

I have a 2013 Fusion with the 2.0 EcoBoost engine, and have never seen the air cut off just because the outside temperature is high. Is yours in need of maintenance or something?
  16. My dealer says no private offer in Canada

I chatted with Ford Canada about the private offer, and they said that I needed to talk to my dealer about them. The dealer says there are no private offers.
  17. My dealer says no private offer in Canada

Like 22,00 other Customers, I was forced into a 2024 with an unfulfilled 2023 order. I was the first Customer in line on July 17th, to order a 2024 over top the 2023 order. I deleted $1k in options and even though multiple items that I wanted are now unavailable in 2024, my XLT hybrid is now...
  18. Some good insight to the 2.0 EcoBoost Engine

Yeah, just no. This guy seems to have personal issues with the EB engines that don't relate to every other person's experience. My own 1st-gen 2.0 is now 11 years old, and aside from a failed high pressure fuel sensor, has been rock solid. It doesn't use oil like this guy says they all...
  19. No-drill front plate solution for Tremor?

If the dealer is in an FLP state or province, they are required to put the FLP on. Its a no-cost install.
  20. 2024 Maverick Build and Price is LIVE!

Mine is 18, but no idea what that means in the real world.
