  1. 2025 Ecoboost with a GPF

Drive the truck. Let the GPF do it's thing. Most likely you won't even notice it's there. Most of the various components operate in the background. If the diesels are any indication, while there's the occasional and EXTREMELY rare major issue, most problems are confined to being the occasional...
  2. Maverick

Based on the size and function, i think the Courier name would have been more appropriate based on the Maverick place in the lineup. I think if the Courier had been made continuously, it would have evolved into something like the Maverick. Having said that, I'm glad they didn't because Courier...

The result is that vehicles operate more seamlessly than they did beforehand. And more repairs can be made with software updates that in the past we'd either have to live with or needed to replace a mechanical part. Most of the time we simply enjoyed the benefit with the electronic processes...

The best I told you so is one you don't say a word. But the person gives you that sheepish look that says " yep you were right"
  6. So long

I call a deal a concession made by the seller that's below what he had hoped to get that brings the purchase to something the purchaser is willing to pay without feeling as if he got ripped off. Of course we know that the dealership is going to make a profit off the sale. And the salesman is...

Yes, the 2025s automatically engage the parking brake on an incline. I checked a 2022 at the job, and it does not do it automatically. I imagine the roll away can happen if the vehicle is on a very minimal incline and it slowly rolls. If it rolls fast enough, I know that on most vehicles, the...

The beauty of this is that until the recall is performed you just have to engage the parking brake every time. So if you're in the habit of doing this already, you don't have to change anything you do. Otherwise just remind yourself to engage the parking brake. It also seems as if Ford will be...

Enjoy your Ranger. It's a nice vehicle as well.

True. But it's default position is ENGAGED. It takes battery power to disengage it. There's spring loaded tension trying to engage it. If everything falls, it will engage unless their is a mechanical fault. If All battery power suddenly fails, it will engage by default. I'm thinking the software...

I hate when the recalls are released to the public before they even give us a heads-up. 25C69 is not even listed on our tech page yet. By the way, a good practice is to simply always apply the parking brake. I wouldn't be surprised if the update also did that. Ford has added that feature on at...

If you have a 2022, it doesn't engage automatically. If you have a 2025, it does engage automatically on an incline
  13. Endless repeated Hybrid failures have finally broken me

It's more like "when you need a transmission, you get a new " starter" by default". 😅. Of the things that motor does, starting the engine is the least stressful function.

Here we go again. A bunch of panic 😂. A lot of people don't realize that 1. Some issues resulting in recalls do occur on a significant number of vehicles. But even the recalls that cover a boatload of vehicles often are issued if even 2 or 3 have reported the problem. 2. If anyone is scared...

Just use the parking brake. If on an incline of any consequence it engages automatically. I wouldn't be surprised if the reprogramming makes it the parking brake automatically when shifting into Park. They've done that for other vehicles.
  16. Endless repeated Hybrid failures have finally broken me

That's the transmission going out which happens to also happens to function as the starter too. So as long as the transmission is working , you have a starter.
  17. Ford Maverick makes 2026 Car and Driver 10Best Trucks List

It's NOT the charging. It's the repeated cycling due to excess draw . If it was as simple as a charging algorithm they would have sent a software update long ago . They've done it for other vehicles . So it's not as if they don't understand the concept. those with excess draw have been charged...

Probably because the battery issue is largely absent in the 2025 models
  19. Maverick odometer poll - how many miles have you driven? (2025 version)

You probably would have gotten about 28-29 mpg even at 75-80. I have noticed that the biggest drop-off seems to occur at about 65 . I think that’s about when there’s no more pure electric driving
  20. Maverick odometer poll - how many miles have you driven? (2025 version)

You still would have saved with the hybrid. But since you got a tremor, you couldn’t have gotten that in a hybrid anyway. And people who get a tremor do so because they like the Tremor. That probably took Priority over fuel economy anyway.
