I have not heard back yet. I did call and leave voicemail this past Friday. I have my truck just two speakers still not working. Will hopefully hear back from them early this week. Will definitely keep posted.
This morning after sending my window sticker on vehicle:
"The status for us remains unchanged from our phone call Monday. Your window sticker and build sheet both specifically only add to 6 speakers. There are several other spots on the vehicle that state it is an 8-speaker system. We are also...
What is DSP? Just display?
I left vm to have them call me back about the 6 vs 8 speaker. Not sure why they didn’t catch that as part of the original config. /sigh
APM was definitely bad, but the issue goes a lot deeper than that.
According to the window sticker and build sheet, my truck was spec’d with the “AM/FM stereo w/6 speakers” setup. It’s not the base audio system — it includes the subwoofer package. During troubleshooting, they discovered there...
Just got another update:
"Technicians said the engineers have pinpointed it to an update issue, but also issue with ACM that was installed. ACM is refusing to take update. Engineers asking to replace ACM that they've already installed and see if the new ACM will help solve those issues and...
Truck is still in the shop — Week 3, Day 2. They provided a loaner at the start, so I’ve been covered there.
They’ve replaced the APIM and another module behind the volume controls (the ACM), but the issue persists. The dealership is now working directly with Ford engineering to determine next...
Spot on, APIM did not fix it, but I got a brand new APIM. They have traced it to the ACM, or at least this is what they are replacing next.. @crbalch They are going to let me know how much this part costs and will relay back just so you have a rough idea if it might be the same issue with yours.
Shop just called. They have to replace fault APIM. According to them, this part was ~$1,100. Fortunately I did extend the warranty before it went up, but has almost paid for the extension the first time having to use it.
I completely missed that post - Thank you for the info. Yeah I would think this update has been on there for some time since it looks like this update came out in 2024, so I am kind of doubtful that initiating the same firmware update would fix if Ford is able to do that. I mean it would be...
With it being sync 3 and capable of being updated via usb/hdd with image, is it possible to force it to install the same update again? I am an IT guy by day, and in past at least for IT equipment I’ve had to redo firmware updates over the top because something went sideways. Not sure if this has...
This is pretty slick that you can do this. I do have the cable now and I can indeed see all of these things now too. Stupid head unit.
I’ve seen many people changing codes in the forums, is that supported to be able to change these? Won’t void any warranties I’m assuming? I’m not planning on...
I did pop all of the fuses you mentioned in previous post to make sure all of them looked okay. They were fine, but assuming the disconnects of those triggered something?
I’m going to go pick up my buddies cable tonight and try to get it connected. Once I get the software and connected what would I be looking for with the software once hooked up? I’m pretty technically savvy fwiw.
Not getting an error just not able to click or operate any audio at least for me. My luck if it starts working, it will be when I have to take it in on Monday. I also messaged rugedraw to see if they are able to locate the error. Would be cool to see at least what might be going on before I go in.
