I did this and got scheduled about a week later. No idea if it was allocations, being bumped from 15 to 14 priority code, Ford increasing hybrid production, or what. But I doubt changing to XLT hurts anything at this point - it can only help.
Pretty sure you will have to re-order, and you will have to pay the 2024 updated price. In short, you get nothing at all for waiting and going through this mess.
I hope I am wrong!
lol Ford warned everyone, as if they had foresight, but then accepted tens of thousands more hybrid orders than they apparently knew they could ever make. Why is that on customers, or dealers for that matter? That is Ford.
But while we are on the topic of dealers: If I, and everyone else around...
I changed from XL to XLT a couple weeks ago and got mine scheduled with the most recent schedule round last week. You should probably got with the most expensive, non-constrained stuff you can. Ford likes its profits, and it seems in general, they are prioritizing the most profitable orders...
Why doesn't Ford just ONLY offer expensive, more profitable Lariats? Or raise the base price considerably on the XL? They are leaving money on the table. I'd say its good for us consumers, but its not really, because when you are promised a killer deal and are forced to wait 9-12 months only to...
Well my low end XLT, changed 2 weeks ago from XL, was recently scheduled for Aug 21, but I guess being scheduled means its too late for upgrade trim further to Lariat. So there is literally nothing that can be done :poop:
As has been mentioned, at this point, a $3K markup isn't significant considering the price raises coming. Plus, that gets rid of the wait and the relatively high possibility you don't get one if you order one in July. I'd say if you are dead set on a Maverick, go for it.

Since September, I have had an XL hybrid on order. Absolute crickets since then.
Last week I watched one of those live Long McArthur videos on YouTube. I heard some stats about the orders. Something about 30% XLT capacity but only 25% XLT orders vs the 15% XL capacity with 32% orders. I sent...
This kind of thing is why I can't figure out why every car manufacturer is not putting their full force behind creating small, affordable, efficient trucks. Hello!! Is anyone out there paying attention?
Good call. If I can figure out if most of their XLTs are getting done, that would probably be a good indicator. I hope they'd be willing to fill me in on that. I live a few hundred miles from the dealer - I went with them because of their good reputation. But the guys on the phone are all old...
Would switching my unscheduled XL order to an XLT at this point improve my odds? We have what, 6 weeks before they stop scheduling 2023 mavericks. It seems they’ve barely made any XLs and they don’t even have the capacity to build them all. I feel like switching to an XLT couldn’t hurt at this...
