It's actually 3000 pounds in NH. My boat is rated at 2900 ( boat and trailer) and does not require brakes. All duel axle trailers are sold with brakes; single axles are optional ( I had the choice when I bought the boat). I am literally hauling the boat 3 miles to put it in the water and 3 miles...
It has no issue pulling that much weight; it was stopping that which was the issue. I live in the mountains in New Hampshire, and the truck pulled it nicely, even being 4300. But I could tell it would push the truck if I had to stop quickly. I did this for years with a full-size pickup, but was...
If you have been following my previous posts, I had a steel trailer with no brakes, and the combined weight of the trailer and tractor was around 4,300 pounds, with no trailer brakes. This new aluminum trailer is much lighter, with a total load of around 3,500 pounds for the tractor and trailer...
I would say to her, you are starting to sound like my ex-wife. and if this is your fisrt marriage, she might get the point. I have been married twice before, when they give ultimatums, I take them up on it. I am on #3 and 19 years into it. I bought a 5k trailer today and didn't ask.
I ran into the same problem. My steel trailer and tractor put me over the 4k limit. I borrowed a friend's trailer that was aluminum and it kept me a little under the 4k limit. I am now looking to buy one. The one pictured is a 16 ft, I am looking for a 14ft. They seem to come in at under 1200...
When I fill up I typically get a readout of 500 or high 400's. Last week I did a bit of towing and when I filled up after disconnecting trailer it said about 250 and started counting up towards 300. Is this normal?
I borrowed a friend's aluminum trailer with brakes, which brought the weight under 4k. The truck did great! Now I am selling my steel trailer ( without brakes) and looking to buy an aluminum one.
I just weighed my tractor and trailer at the local dump and it came in at 4160. I could shave that to 4000 if I took the York rake off, but it's right at the limit. So I either need to install brakes on this homemade trailer or look for an aluminum one with brakes. Too close for comfort without...
Update on the Truck. The dealer has a body shop and they have a specialist who does the paint-free dent removal. I had a $100 deductible, and the truck looks like new again. Lesson learned. No garbage left in truck bed overnight.
I made the mistake of leaving garbage in the back of the truck last night. No paint damage but dents on the hood and rear quarter. Also teeth marks in the plastic trim. I made a claim to insurance company. The dealership is giving me a loaner while it is fixed.
After seeing the pics of these hub caps, I have decided to return mine. They should arrive in a few days. I think I will spend the money on new rims when it's time to buy tires. I don't like seeing the rims behind the hub cap. Not for me.
I did my first tow last week, I didn't even know the trailer was behind me, it had plenty of power. The big test will be with my boat and tractor. That tractor with trailer is around 3700 pounds give or take. I will let you know.
Just in the last 2 years, 2 volunteer departments dissolved. They are now satellite stations of our dept. We absorbed them, giving any members from those departments to become part-time paid firefighters/EMS.
I could have fit my conventional speaker in there without issue, but the control unit in the cab was really too big unless I wanted to mount it under the seat. And a lot of cabling through the firewall. This cheap speaker is 100 watts. Typically, I am only driving 5 miles to grab a fire truck...
