I asked my dealer and he said the rates offered at the time of order are locked in, unless something better is available. As an aside, the more I hear about other dealers, the more I like mine.

I believe the Atkinson cycle leaves the intake valves open during the compression cycle for a short time. IN essence, this lowers the compression ratio on the intake stroke vs the exhaust stroke. I'm no expert but this might be answer your question.

I purchased (or made a deposit on) mine without realizing that it was any different than a typical CVT. I'm really much more of a simple, utilitarian driver. I like some creature comforts but am much more interested in gas mileage and a bed. For that simple reason, this truck is a perfect fit...
