Get ALL the recalls, software updates and SSMs done. Some of them affect the battery usage and life. Trying to figure out which ones you want to have is not productive when all of them are required for various reasons.
GM vehicles with their really poor throttle mapping usually require higher octane to compensate for the pinging with their poor computer programming. Fords do not seem to have these issues.
Just like other parts of the manual, it is confusing or outright wrong. You're going to pay 20% higher cost for 4% more power on the EcoBoost-only. On the Hybrid, with an effective CR of 9:1, even 87 octane is a lot. On both engines, you need TopTier-specced E15 or less fuel though, and lots...
The gas engine is the primary efficiency problem, so improving its efficiency, reducing the size of it and increasing the electric portion would improve overall efficiency and give the same or better performance. Switching to an Atkinson cycle has already been done in the Hybrid, so pulling...
So you intentionally voided the warranty and altered the joint angles, and expected a warranty claim and everyone else using that dealership has to pay a portion of the "goodwill" that was extended to you. IMHO the dealer did the wrong thing here. That's why the dealer rates are so high, to...
No. The extra electric load and more inherent inefficiencies cost more than they give. To improve efficiency of an already excellent drivetrain would mean downsizing the gas engine and maybe utilizing the 1.5L engine from the Bronco and Escape, converting the cam and cam phasers to Atkinson...
Ok, let's exclude ridiculously-small vehicles like a Honda Fit or a Chevy Spark, since they aren't really usable vehicles. The smallest vehicle that I can think of that is in common use is the Honda Civic. It has a turning circle of anywhere from 36 to 38 feet, depending upon the trim level...
The service notice was updated after dozens of people had their ac units bricked by the original notice. I'll bet they never looked up the new one that has been out for a month now.
New brakes on a Hybrid that is not even one year old? That's insane. The Hybrid brakes last more than twice as long as the EcoBoost ones due to regen braking action, so they should not be required for at least 7 years.
Its a common problem on multiple vehicle types, caused by topping up the fuel instead of pulling out at the first shutoff, filling the evap lines with fuel, ruining that valve, ruining your charcoal canister and degrading the tank-to-filler next seal. Stop topping up to get an extra gallon!
At 40psi my Michelins ride like an oxcart. At 35psi they give a really nice ride, better than the Contis. When they warm up on the road, they gain an additional 3psi on cool days and 4psi on a stinker like today. In winter I usually have to add 3psi.
The turning radius on a 2007 Colorado is 39.4' curb-to-curb, or about 7" less than the Mav. That's not even a noticeable difference. Wall-to-wall the Colorado would have a larger turning circle, due to the larger overhangs.
