Top notch example! Totally agree on it not being worth the liability. Insurance would tear ya apart. The question still remains, I wonder why they get more favorable ratings?
I'm not poking at the Maverick. It's a capable little truck. I'm specifically talking about America's neutered tow ratings in general.
Side note, per tow ratings in general you cannot combine 1,500lbs in the bed and 4,000lbs on a trailer. That will put you way over the GCWR (Gross Combined...
I've always been a bit surprised by the vast differences in tow ratings giving to cars in different markets. Granted the Maverick isn't over the pond (yet), but comparing different models from Ford and other manufacturers to their American counterparts is always interesting. Even comparing...
God damn, Carfax shows this dude put 22,810 miles on it in the first 66 days. Takes me a year to do that with my "long commute". I've heard of certain medical based delivery jobs that rack miles up like this.
Yeah this will be one to watch for sure. I imagine Tim will be talking about it at length during a live stream. Hopefully he'll have some more insight on the finer details by then.
Excellent questions. I do wonder how many dealers actually did COVP for 2023 orders though. If I recall Ford said it wasn't required like it was for the initial model year.
I'll be damned, just checked this earlier this morning. Glad to see they got it corrected. Shows proper trim and I no longer have both 500A and 300A listed

Fair enough, I hear you on the versatility. Ours is replacing a Crosstrek. Having more capability while maintaining the same fuel economy for the 65 mile daily commute was an easy choice.
Get a load of money bags over here. Pour an extra gallon on the ground for the homies on your next fill-up.
Just busting your balls btw. You do you, but yes it would appear a lot of us prefer to keep as much cash in our pockets as possible.
Congratulations @NoCoolNameDave. Your truck purchase has officially turned into a flat earth conspiracy theory.
All jokes aside, I hope your pickup serves you well.
There's still a fair amount of kinetic energy stored up in a 3,600lb vehicle traveling at 3mph, close to 1,100 ft-lbs. Why anyone would risk unnecessary force onto their transmission internals just to save a cough syrup cups worth of gas is beyond me. Turning the ignition off in a moving vehicle...
Huh, didn't even think about the rail going though my podunk Kansas town would probably be the main line to KC. I guess I'll just wave to everyone's Maverick next time I'm stuck behind a train.
Tracker for my order shows mine listed as an XL with a 300A and 500A package. Had a date scheduled shown and now it's not. Pretty safe to say the tracker is having a stroke right now.
Replacing our 6 speed Crosstrek with a Mav. Will be nice to have the additional towing so we can bring our other small Yamaha bike not pictured on a slightly larger trailer. Subaru did well and I'll never say it wasn't capable, but climbing up Monarch Pass is intense with this load. Outside of...
