I have a 23 XLT Hybrid I got in March 2023 and have about 8500 miles on it. It has been a great truck so far. I tow it behind our Class C RV when we travel and use it as a daily driver. I really enjoy the Maverick and it serves all of my needs. Great gas mileage and I really think it is a great...
Well I believe my problem has been resolved. I have towed successfully on round trips three times! It truly was the wiring and installing an aftermarket brake light switch on the Maverick. I wish I could tell you more but it comes right of Neutral Tow mode without a problem.
Hey there @SaltyJim I just got back from a great trip and towing the Maverick is one of the best decisions I’ve made. I like the Road Master tow bar and base plate. I also got the Invisibrake system and my installer had to redo some of their original wiring because it was throwing off the...
Hi Kathy - I have a Road Master base plate, Nighthawk Tow Bar and the Invisabrake system. It comes with a monitoring device that connects wirelessly in the RV that shows when the Invisabrake applies the brakes in the Maverick.
I will let everyone know how the changes work out.
I believe mine is resolved. Road Master worked with the company that installed my base plate. They found that the monitoring device needed to be wired differently because power was bleeding back from the device and confusing the computer. I’m scheduled to take another camping trip next weekend...
My local dealership ran it through numerous tests and had the truck for a week. In the mean time they reached out to my local installer and Road Master. My installer has got me scheduled next week to put the changes that Road Master noted would be required to resolve the problem. I’ll let you...
Wow - you have put a lot of thought and effort into your Maverick! Looks great!! I have a tie dye t-shirt with the GD logo and mine says “Grateful Dad”. I like the name you came up with and I will not steal it. Love your work…..
So mine is in the shop with my local dealer. I told them I did not want the truck back until they can find a permanent fix for this problem. I love my Maverick but I too bought it for flat towing behind my RV. They have brought in a Ford Corporate Engineer and haven’t found the root cause yet...
Mine is in the shop right now to have them figure out why it will sometimes not come out of Neutral Tow gracefully. I opened a ticket with Ford to ensure the dealership gets the support they need in finding the root cause.
I’m going to make sure I keep up with the maintenance requirements based on the additional miles while being towed. Those miles do not show on the odometer. Mainly keeping a close eye on the suspension and checking for any abnormalities.
@bobhardy3 - I was given a Trouble Ticket from Ford and am scheduled for my home dealership to work on this issue tomorrow. I will be insisting that the underlying issue get resolved instead of just resetting the computer. I’ve found that the issue doesn’t keep us from driving the Maverick...
