  1. Parked next to another interesting small truck today

Got a friend in the bee business and he wanted one to transport fullsized hive boxes. Don’t know how useful he wouldn’t use my Maverick for it was too small.
  2. Best "small truck" insults!?

Take a hint….. they want to practice driving one! will be 15 next year. Planning ahead. Already have a 10yo angler expecting my used maverick as his hand me down, first ride in 6 years.
  3. Anyone going with a Scout TUKTUK?

For 60k I will pass. However dimensions work for a self built foamie. Good to see the space inside. Good design.
  4. Maverick in hot temperature

Got 51 mpg at 91 degrees on trip to ranch, on way home 45 mpg with max cold first half of trip about 60 miles round trip. The 45 mpg was also spent in a drive thro for 10mins. So could have been better, temps under 100. Slippery mode used more & more, just have to start braking earlier with...
  5. Kofad's Family Truck

    Great looks.
  6. Maverick Police Truck (With Bull Bar) by San Luis Obispo PD

Blew the doors off a hybrid Mercedes Benz, She hated that.
  7. Maverick Police Truck (With Bull Bar) by San Luis Obispo PD

A Hybrid non the less. Where do we get the big side sticker. Smart XL painted black rims and left the center hub normal.
  8. Significantly lower hybrid MPG due to Texas heat or a bad oil change?

Mavericks A/C has been one of the best in any car/truck I owned. Heats not horrible either for a Hybrid. My Chevy was a sauna in 5 mins during the mini week long ice age that deep froze Texas a few winters ago. Haven’t been able to test the Maverick, night early January pickup from dealership it...
  9. Significantly lower hybrid MPG due to Texas heat or a bad oil change?

Yes and you are getting real smoke now. Not that ground fog that looks like smoke. Sister is a WV hillbilly and every sky pic looks like Mars, orange to red.
  10. Significantly lower hybrid MPG due to Texas heat or a bad oil change?

What, Kerr is hot as well? Was planning on moving there, seems 5-7 degrees cooler and dryer (less humidity ) than East side of San Antonio. And sees snow every other year for a half a day. Thats all I want. On West to the Davis Mnts, low humidity definitely there. Still Texas.
  11. Building a custom bed camper using a wood frame (UPDDATE ON PROGRESS!)

Great! Wonder what could be made with the tiny Maverick. Haven’t heard a negative person about the product or cost. Waiting for OP to blaze the trail on his design, think I could combine multiple ideas between the two to make an ideal self build, for now. But I do have enough available to...
  12. Building a custom bed camper using a wood frame (UPDDATE ON PROGRESS!)

You should know I will be bugging you to do a scouting mission on the place. The actual manufacturing is a mom & Pop shop likely also nearby or even co-located. They don’t have a website but are called USA Campers, and many hundreds cheaper directly from them.
  13. Building a custom bed camper using a wood frame (UPDDATE ON PROGRESS!)

https://belairshells.com/custom-camper-shells Priced very good, shows construction details. Maybe head to South California after a local hybrid Maverick visits them for a fitting.
  14. High “idle” sound when parked

Yep, dang loud running full power AC
  15. Building a custom bed camper using a wood frame (UPDDATE ON PROGRESS!)

Found a pic of the raw bones of the camper above, very clever, hing details for back wall is very uncomplicated. Smart use of a torsion box across the back for strength. Wooden i-beams.
  16. Building a custom bed camper using a wood frame (UPDDATE ON PROGRESS!)

Great design for a foamie, really like the back wall tilt. Need a thick header but I already had that in mind for the slightly pitched solar panel roof. Its a true camper shell with extra long back wall. Adding the bed and side cabinets keep the weight down since they hide the unfinished look...
  17. Planned purchases / mods for your Maverick?

Solar panel hard bed cover, cheaper than a bought hard cover, two 200w solar panels, work in progress
  18. Jurassic Mavericks United!

Keep that West Coast weirdness away from Texas, if not, there is a designated Texas city for being weird — go there. . i visit there, not as often as I should.
  19. Official Keypad Feedback Thread

Tell me more about the blank key door unlock.. was going to get the keypad for my XL with my points but the service guy says 400$ more to program it with computers to match the Maverick. So that is not happening. With the Prius a micro key can be removed from the key fob to keep the car running...
  20. Who has memorized their VIN? šŸ¤£šŸ˜‰

Nope, still trying to remember spelling my middle name. So go by Ted.
