  1. Anyone Have The Topper / Canopy Installed?

No it’s not. I’ve had mine in the rain. It runs out the sides. I can’t be more clear in this.
  2. 1up bike rack installed

Yeah, not surprised. I can have any rack I want and I own several 1ups and nothing else. I ride a lot and with a lot of other people and the only other rack I’d even *consider* is the Kuat. It’s prettier and will probably last just as long (or at least way closer than anything else), but I like...
  3. 1up bike rack installed

Nice catch! I think that only works on the singles, though, because it’s a different hitch piece that you flipped. I’ll have to look at my double and see, but obviously the double even folded down would still be sticking out in the way some. But if it works on the double it’s still an...
  4. Anyone Have The Topper / Canopy Installed?

It looks that way from pics, but that’s not how it is. It’s just a very nice fit but no actual seal, and water just runs around the edges at the bottom. But yes, water most assuredly can get between the cap and the cab.
  5. A.R.E taking preorders on Maverick topper / canopies

I got behind an *old* Nissan pickup earlier today that had a camper shell on it that was the same height as the cab. It was *astounding* to me how much bigger that opening is than my SnugTop. Very similar sized truck, not very similar in this regard at all somehow. I’ll say it again: see one in...
  6. 1up bike rack installed

Having gone through his already, I think you’re gonna find that you’d need to lower it way too much. And given that any lowering solution *also* extends it (there’s no other way) by some, I think you might be better served by just getting an extension so that you put it far enough back to let...
  7. 1up bike rack installed

Sorry, I wasn’t intending to be hostile. I just wanted to make sure I understood what you were saying. But yes, moving your cables to that position is smart if you have your rack installed so you don’t dent your tailgate because you forgot or someone else didn’t know. And FWIW, there are a lot...
  8. A.R.E taking preorders on Maverick topper / canopies

My whole reason for the topper was my dogs as well. But honestly you can barely see out the window of the SnugTop now. If I had a smaller window at all I’d definitely be installing a video rear view mirror. Best advice I can give is to do whatever you have to do to find a SnugTop you can look...
  9. 1up bike rack installed

What good is that, though? It’s not like you can sit on it that way. Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but I think you’re talking about with the tailgate setup in the “plywood hauling” position? At a 45* or so angle, right?
  10. A.R.E taking preorders on Maverick topper / canopies

Have you seen one in person? I’ve said it before and I’m going to keep saying it…the SnugTop without the additional height might LOOK better, but it’s simply not functional. I have one. I like it a lot. But it you take the 4” off of it, you might as well skip it and do a tonneau because when...
  11. Anyone Have The Topper / Canopy Installed?

The cap doesn’t seal to the cab at all. It seals around the bed, just as if it were on a truck that has a separate bed. It’s just very CLOSE to the cab, so in pics it isn’t clear that it’s not sealed there. But it is, and it has it’s own glass, and it’s glass can fold down internally so you can...
  12. Non ford topper

Leer owns Leonard and SnugTop. I personally own the SnugTop and it has a Leer manufacturing tag on it. I’ll bet Leer comes out with other tops, but I’d guess they have some kind of agreement not to for some amount of time, anyway, since the SnugTop is sold through Ford only, currently. I’ve...
  13. Snug top leak water?

SnugTop doesn’t leak that I’ve found.
  14. A.R.E. DCU cap

The window on a door that small would be useless anyway. The window on the SnugTop, which is about 4” taller than the cab, is *nearly* useless as it is. If you lose 3” or more of that, it’s definitely useless. But if you don’t care and can save by skipping a window entirely, yeah, ”problem” solved.
  15. Would you trust moving electronics in the rain under your tonneau cover?

Right. It’s an optional bigger car trunk that’s not weatherproof and not quite as secure. Got it.
  16. Would you trust moving electronics in the rain under your tonneau cover?

I’ve never understood you tonneau cover people in general, and that was assuming that they were at least water tight. If most aren’t, well, they’re truly useless. *sigh*
  17. I've decided a canopy/topper for my Maverick needs to look like this...

Wait, what? That’s more than 16” taller than the SnugTop! So nearly 20” taller than the back of the cab. Wow. That’s going to look….interesting. And FWIW, your wind deflector may help a little with noise, but whatever your mileage loss is *just* with the shell you might get 5% of it back with...
  18. Solved: Hitch Mount Bike Rack Interference

No 1up fits, though. I already have an Equip-D single *and* a 2 place Superduty and the tailgate can hit either one, even folded down. An extension like you used works, and a shorter extension with a drop works, but both leave the rack behind the tailgate and in the way for sitting on the...
  19. Anyone Have The Topper / Canopy Installed?

I simply got my dealer to order mine after I had ordered the truck through them, so my guess is the best way to get one is hit up your local dealer parts department. They were DEFINITELY on the Ford accessories site at one point, and I’ve heard they are completely unavailable in Canada for some...
  20. 1up bike rack installed

New custom side plates let the rack sit under the tailgate completely: Untitled by djb_rh, on Flickr Doesn’t fold, but I don’t care. It’s so much more out of the way and really doesn’t seem even close to being any kind of a dragging hazard. Untitled by djb_rh, on Flickr Untitled by djb_rh...
