  1. Blue OX baseplate done right.

I didn't like the small tabs to remove the plastic plugs, so use black cane tips.
  2. Blue OX baseplate done right.

The plugs are cane tips available at most hardware stores.
  3. Blue OX baseplate done right.

Saw several messages where owners were less than pleased with the ragged facia edges after base plate installation. It can be done with minimal trimming of the front end.
  4. Hood will not unlock.

As Donald said, I had SWMBO pull the handle to the second pull while I held the hook partly closed. The second latch opened, the hood was raised, and the struts removed. Operational check with struts removed, hood operates as designed. THANKS to everyone who offered help!!
  5. Hood will not unlock.

Tried that - no joy. The release handle has tension on the first pull. Second pull no action.
  6. Hood will not unlock.

THANKS!! IF I can get the hood open, I will remove struts.
  7. Hood will not unlock.

My truck was inconsistent - and then I installed the two hood struts. Now the hood won't open. If I can figure out how to get it open, I will disconnect both struts and check. I like the struts (not the hold open rod) but if that is causing the issue, i'll take the struts off.
  8. Cost to set up hybrid for towing four down including bar, hookup to mav, lights etc.?

I just today finished setting up my Hybrid Lariat for tow. I paid $932 for a Blue Ox base plate installed. ($602.95 for base plate, $330 labor) I purchased an M&G brake system and break-away for $845 and self installed. Light wiring installed cost $230 installed. So, I'm a bit over $2000. I had...
  9. Hood will not unlock.

According to the Owners' Manual, to release the hood, pull the lever, allow it to completely retract, hen pull again. On my recently acquired '23 Lariat, the hood unlocks on the first handle pull, but nothing happens on the second pull. Hood pops open, but does not release. Any suggestions?
  10. 12VDC power available under hood?

So, John - If I do not connect to the battery, where would you suggest? My auxiliary brake system requires 12 VDC to operate correctly when towing the Maverick behind the motorhome. It was recommended to use the battery jumper post.
  11. 12VDC power available under hood?

Good idea! What brake system are you using? I'm using the M&G system towing with an Itasca Meridian motorhome - had used M&G on 2 earlier vehicles, but the Maverick needed the M&G 2.0 system. Would be interested in your experience towing the Maveric.
  12. 12VDC power available under hood?

In preparing my '23 Lariat Hybrid for recreational vehicle towing (flat towing) I need a source of 12 VDC under the hood with ignition off. Normally I would wire directly from the battery, but that would require a long run since the battery is located under the rear seat. A source of 12 VDC...
  13. Anyone install a M&G Brake System ?

Has anyone installed an M & G brake system on their Maverick? I plan to self-install, however am not sure of a firewall entrance for the brake cable. Would be great if i had photos.
  14. Switch Function /Operation?

Thank you very much! Am wading through the Owner's Manual, but had not read that.
  15. Switch Function /Operation?

Just picked up a pre-owned 2023 Lariat Hybrid, and while checking could not find the function of this switch. The panel is located just forward of the console, the switch (top far right) has a symbol not shown in the Owner's Manual. It appears to me to be a hand palm in a circle. When pressed...
  16. Fiberglass topper

Yep, I guess I am out of style. :giggle:. Don't think I'll spend $5K on a custom built, though.
  17. Howdy from AZ

Wish I could find one of the old style fiberglass deck lids instead of the tonneau covers. I just think a bed lid painted the truck would make for a great looking truck.

Ok, so the shutters get the engine up to temp for improved operation. Operating in Phoenix and the mountain west, I don't think I would need them (nor does my Cat engine in the motorhome). ;) I'll check when I get the truck and check if they have been removed.

Interesting on the shutters. My Maverick is due to arrive on Wednesday. I will check the shutters though I'm not sure exactly where they are located. As for the tow bar base plate installation, I went with Blue Ox. It's scheduled for next Wednesday (5/3). Will post photos of the installation.
