Sorry to hear your cover's not working out. There really is no reason for it. Just poor quality control IMO. Even the vehicle itself only has so-so quality fit and finish, again IMO. Thanks for the great review.
It is actually a metal channel used for adjustable wall shelving. Just had it laying around.
You can see the 3 bolts recessed into the cover on one of the earlier pics. The channel simply acts as a clamp.
The material was bought from a place in Barrie, ON but according to their web site it is...
I should start by saying besides my Maverick, I have a Ram with a Tri-fold cover. The Maverick is more of a grocery hauler so I don't really need the convenience of a tri-fold. Anyway, the cover is basically a sheet of 1/4 ply glued to a sheet of 1/2" ply that is approx 2" smaller all the way...
Mine is a Hybrid, so the 12 volt battery is under the rear seat.
For the underhood light I used a mercury switch, only because I had it laying around. Its tied into the fuse panel at the passenger side footwell. Wire run through the grommet in the firewall on the drivers side.
The under rear...
Thanks,
Yes, the lights only come with short leads.. I used but splices to extend them. If it's exposed to moisture I also use heat shrink.
I picked up the wire on Amazon. You can also buy it at an automotive parts and accessory store I'm sure. I used 18 gauge for this project. It was actually...
I changed out the rear speakers, (lots of YouTube vids on this) and made this part of the project since a bunch of interior panels were removed anyway. Once rear interior pillar post panels are removed, you just need to fish a wire over the headliner to the interior of the (exterior) cab light...
Thanks for your concern Colin I,
all I know is I wouldn’t spend a bundle on amps and speakers to try to prop up the cheap head unit in the Mav. I just changed out the speakers, Pioneers in the front, Kickers in the back and a powered Pioneer sub driven from the rear Channel. Sub only handles...
I had problems getting my sub to work when tapping into the rear speakers as well. Finally figured out the settings in the radio have to be set to 4 people listening (or full cab) as UnkleFunk mentioned. If it is set at two people, you only get the highs going to the rear speakers.
I will try...
Amazon, link below is for Amazon.ca but I’m sure you can find them on Amazon.com.

I actually ran the wires from the cargo light down to the passenger side wire raceway when I changed out the rear speakers (many post's on how to remove the rear panels required to do that).
Added some footwell and under seat lighting to my '23 XLT. I ended up tying them into the exterior cargo area overhead light. Figured they come on every time I have a door opened, and I can turn them on if need be at the switch beside the headlight controls.
I also added under hood lights while...
