Pull off the road if you want to text and just use your phone. Not being able to text while driving doesn't sound like a problem. My opinion of course.
I had one on my Ridgeline for ten years and never had an issue. They have, or at least had, a lifetime warranty. Reach out to them for guidance. They are a great company to work with.
I also have the Mabett mats and are pleased with them. Not sure why that Bronco site has so many haters, maybe they're bitter that they overpaid for their vehicles. Personally, I find that Mabett products fit as designed, are well made, and they offer a ton of options.
Rarely use mine. I like the ability of slowly pulling into a parking spot and moving up little at a time. This forces you to press the gas to move. Sometimes I'll use it, but not often.
My F150 has it as well, but needs to be done with the NAV screen. It's off as well.
