Agree on that, sure looks like old school. Really nice work Jeff G, and yes baby moons and a couple of Moon equipped decals down at the bottom of the front fender......in tribute to Dean Moon.......
I am not the seller, but to answer your question on how to open it, and if I remember correctly, that black collar has a pin and you pull that and release the collar. The catch end of the can should have 2 orings for seals. Hope this helps.
Agree absolutely 100 percent. I was in that environment at one time in my younger days and couldnt believe what the service manager where I worked wanted us to do. Most of us left that dealership because of the hack work that was being done.
Agree with other posters, condensation. It gets to that milky gray/greenish tint. I have had many Fords, and many different engine sizes, and condensate appears under the fill cap on many of them. I try to get on the highway and put some miles on, as most of my driving is short trips. ( edited...
I wasnt quite sure -but I believe there was a downturn on some noise. I agree with you there wasnt much difference in the engine noise but road noise seem less. Regardless I would rather have the insulators there then not. Good video by the way.
Fyi to all-I ordered a set of these insulators and installed them today. Drivers side ---I installed from the engine compartment. No issue getting it in there. Passenger side---No go from the topside because of the washer reservoir so--- I installed by removing some of the fender well liner and...
This brings back memories of me purposely parking, as my daughters would say- "a million miles from the entrance" - just to (a) keep my vehicle as nice as can be and-- most importantly (b) to annoy the hell out of the kids.......;). We are empty nesters now but when they are home, Dad still...
Ugh--- I (like you all) have kept Ford Vehicle sales and their parts departments, as well as Ford Motor Credit and the Ford credit card issuer, in business for decades and I dont need to keep feeding money to another branch of Ford.....unless they want to reward me with a new...

Memories of the late 60s and 70s. Not only in the NE as you stated- but here in the midwest as well--- we had covers on the house furniture as well as the car seats....... neat pic. (Wonder if that is a Virginia Slim she is smoking ....LOL.)
Thanks for the part number reference. I ordered a set for my XLT 2.0 AWD. It was produced Dec 26, and no insulators. I will just buy them and keep the receipt- in case Ford declares a warranty option.
The best and smartest thing you did was to ask! Too many people make mistakes buying a vehicle and not educating themselves on towing capacities. My neighbor bought a 1/2 ton Ram to tow his new travel trailer. He never researched weights and towing capacities. He had the Ram for 2 weeks- traded...
