  1. Maverick cheaper to drive than Mach E?

EVs and plug-in hybrids are less expensive to operate if and only if you charge them at home where electricity is half the cost or less. (national average 13¢ per kWH) compared to Tesla superchargers or other charging stations (25¢ - 50¢ or more per kWH). All EVs realistically get around 3-4...
  2. New to the club and need advice on tonneau

The REV hard rollup is available through Ford Accessories which often has discount codes (currently at 20% off) that plus Ford Points got mine down below hard fold up price.
  3. New to the club and need advice on tonneau

Consider a hard rollup. They are just as secure (if not more since there are more places for the clamps that close down along the side rails to hold the cover down) as fold-up covers. They don't block the entire rear window when open and are easier to open with one hand.
  4. Tonneau troubleshooting—securing the BAK Rev X4s

I had zero problems installing my BAK Revolver X2, no need to shim anything. Carefully installed the rails and make sure they all the way up against the cab. Tightened them down to the bed and installed the cover. The clamps at the tailgate end snap in with one hand, fits really well. I was...
  5. Order of Operations

I wouldn't worry too much about sales passing you by unless you are otherwise in a hurry. Sales exist to drive demand in part through FOMO With 100+ competition products, there will be other sales.
  6. Order of Operations

I was overwhelmed by tonneau choices too. Created this list to help make sense of them all. Hopefully it will help you too For the record I went with the Rev Hard Roll-up cover through Ford Accessories. It was the best value for what I wanted after the 20% off promo code and Ford Points...
  7. Frustration:9+ days past delivery date

Keep in mind that convoy doesn't mean truck transport the whole way. My Mav shows convoy on the window sticker but the ramp information (redacted on downloaded window stickers but does show up on the physical one) indicated a rail yard that serves auto dealers throughout the state. It likely...
  8. How strong is the demand for the Maverick really?

    > it doesn't look like anything is selling - used or new. Especially on the used - many of the same trucks that were listed 3 months ago are still sitting around. I wouldn't treat internet inventories as gospel. My 25 Mav sat on the original dealer's lot for a few days, then it was...
  9. Aftermarket vs Factory Tonneau Cover

FWIW, there are no "factory" tonneau covers made by Ford, only OEM accessories that are sold after the sale or installed by dealers as a part of the sale of a vehicle. That's admittedly nit-picking though. The more interesting part is the kinds of tonneaus Ford chooses to carry and the OEMs that...
  10. 100+ bed tonneau cover aftermarket options - compilation list 📃

Put together a list of over 100 tonneau covers listed to fit the Maverick of all types including soft and hard, rolling and folding. Still no single hard, hinged cover color matched or otherwise available. Hopefully it is useful to someone else. What did I miss? I'm leaning toward a the...
  11. Interesting fleet use

Parked outside the police station at a moderate sized private college. 11 square miles and a student population of 16k seems ideal for this small fleet of small trucks
  12. Installing tailgate assist on 2025 Maverick XLT?

Any suggestions for adding on a tailgate assist kit to a 2025 Mav XLT? The only ones I see out there are for MY 22-24. Did the tailgate change between 24-25?
  13. 2025 Maverick Stickers still advertising you have a WI-FI hot spot...

My 2025 XLT FWD lists FORDPASS™ CONNECT 5GWI-FI HOTSPOT TELEMATICS MODEM I suppose it's useful for remote start and lock/unlock but I'll never use it as a hotspot. Too expensive, duplicates the unlimited data plan I'm already paying for on my cell phones.
  14. What did your Maverick replace or is it your first?

Traded in a hand-me-down 2005 Toyota Sienna with 216k miles for my 25 Maverick XLT Hybrid, My first new vehicle since my 1994 Dodge Dakota.
  15. If you could change your color choice what would you pick?

Briefly considered a used Cyber Orange but my wife wisely pointed out it would grow old fast (I tend to run vehicles for 200k+ miles and 20+ years) I went looking for a Ruby Red 25 and ended up with Velocity Blue. I wouldn't change a thing.
