Yeah, I suspect you're right. I think Ford's goal is to make as many as necessary for CAFE purposes (to offset gas hogging F-150s, Broncos, etc.) but also not use up too much of the Hermosillo capacity for more profitable Bronco sports.

I got the email from Ford and chat says my current status is: "Order Processing - Unscheduled-Clean" However, my dealer did not ask for a copy of my driver's license, just a signed copy of the paper detailing the specs of my order. Should I be concerned?

My dealer won't place my order until they've placed everyone before me. If I don't get to submit mine in time that will probably be the end of me getting a Maverick. I was pretty excited but there's only so much a person can take before they lose interest.
