The CV axle thing is my greatest concern. Some have claimed the truck is basically undrivable and almost impossible to keep on the road with how bad it is. Others have said no, it's pretty mild but you notice it. Does it feel like the shudder the mavericks used to do prior to that software...
Yes. Someone had CVs put into their 2022 about a week ago and said the part looked a lot different than the original design. So I'm guessing that's the redesigned axle going in.
According to a Ford tech who's seen the new and old CV side by side, there's a strong visual difference. The new CVs are beefier. They also bolt into older mavericks. Someone had their CVs are their 2022 replaced about a week ago and confirmed that.
I'd highly recommend a Nissan frontier or Ford ranger for your use case. The current gen Ridgeline has had something like 17 recalls and apparently their transmissions are made of glass. That 9 speed has a ton of problems, it's why I didn't buy a pilot. The sante Cruz also has quite a few...
I've come to the conclusion that no matter what vehicle I buy, I'll be stressed hearing the stories other people have regarding issues. There isn't a single car model forum that isn't full of horror stories. The way I see it, I love my maverick. If I have to replace parts like the CV axles or...
I'm sorry you've had to deal with a tumultuous ownership experience this far, but I'm glad you were able to confirm the new design is better, and it does indeed bolt right up to older mavericks. Here's hoping your ownership experience is a lot smoother moving forward.
My battery didn't have any issues for the first 25-26 months. So it seems to just take some time. I scheduled my software recalls for next week, like 6 of them, hope it doesn't brick my truck, wish me luck lads.
So wait, is the interior dome light not coming on, and the battery saver notifications a software recall, or a battery issue? My maverick has been doing this for about a month now. Took it into a dealership, they said it's a software thing and the battery is fine. Scheduling the software recalls...
The CV axles were very recently redesigned. This was in response to issues with them. We've discussed this in this thread. It looks to be longer, and beefier in side by side comparisons.

So I spoke about this a few weeks ago. I was out of town for about a week, and received a battery saver alert on my phone. My truck started right up, but the interior light didn't come on or the gauges when I first got in.
The truck needs an oil change anyways, so I took it to my dealership...
I know the truck has the auto hold controls down by the dial, that's not what I mean. But how the maverick enters auto hold automatically if you're holding the brakes down long enough, particularly on an incline.
I'm just not fond of the sound of makes when you gently tap the gas, and it makes...
I really hope things work out. I'm just stressed about, well literally everything in life, but especially the way our country is going. I wish our politicians were of higher quality and character. I'll say the same thing to Trump that I say to every U.S. president, I hope they do well in serving...
I voted for Trump, but I don't view him as this deity like figure who's gonna fix all of our problems. We need better politicians. This latest election was 4 years of a lot of people struggling, and one person throwing out solutions that might make things even worse, and the other side saying...
My truck keeps going in and out of battery saver mode. Not full on deep sleep thankfully. But apparently the dealer said it's a software thing resolved by the recalls and not a battery thing.
Trump needs to realize that slapping tariffs on everything is an insane idea. Some say "Oh this will create more American jobs" which sounds good at first. But then you realize that means the cost of living is gonna shoot up massively, things will be much less affordable if that happens, because...
