So it's not like we can make out a ton, because the shots are so close up, but I'm excited for this product, so I like to break the design down whenever I can.
This image showing a hint of the cab shows us the roof is about the height of a maverick, and the cab is gonna be longer in relation...
I will say even if the rest of the design is too radical, I really do thing this front end genuinely looks nice. It's sporty, and futuristic, but it's not trying too hard. It has some of that traditional boxiness, but moves things forward.
Nice, I will say I don't believe that's the final design they'll go with, I included a series of sketches in post #53 that I believe are a lot closer to the final design. If it stuck to that, it would still be sporty, and fitting of the ranchero name, but it would be a lot more conventional than...
Yeah two sedans according to motortrend, a compact and a larger one. I'd kinda love it if a compact sedan/hatchback took some styling cues from the 90s escort whale tail but took things to the next level, and if the larger sedan was called Galaxie and adopted kinda a muscle car sedan look.
So the software team isn't traditional Ford employees, it's a lot of people from like Apple. The mindset was hiring tech people who really mastered software instead of trying to get old school car enthusiasts to write code that doesn't work.
Because all massive and heavy EVs are selling like shit, even ones that look really nice like the Rivian r1t which is arguably the best looking truck on sale right now. Affordable EVs sell really well, expensive ones don't. That's why Ford is pivoting.
The issue with the SC was the reliability...
This involves a lot of stitching images together so just bear will me, but I think I have an idea as to what the truck will look like. This gray sketch is probably the final theme because it's sporty, but not radical like the blue one. Notice things like the flared fenders, slightly angled bed...
I will say that blue sketch isn't the final truck, and is too radical, but looking at other sketches, there's one I think looks sport, but pretty good. It's gonna required me to present multiple angles and pics, so just bear with me.
Yeah slate is dead lol. It's a 27k truck with two doors, a bare bones interior, 0-60 in 8 seconds with 150 miles of range vs. a 30k 4 door truck that's gonna have a nice interior for the price, 0-60 in sub 5 seconds, and around 300 miles of range.
Everyone is gonna feel differently about things. Some will want this here to be more conservative, others will want it to be more sporty and aggressive, you can't make both sides happy.
My stance on the matter is yes, this and the maverick aren't the same truck, ones gas powered and ones an...
But there are elements from that blue sketch I like. It's an EV truck, it's gonna have a closed off front end with no grille, so with that in mind, I think this front end works pretty well with that.
Looking at the areo graphic, it looks like the rear of the cab is pretty far back, basically...
That's not the final design, you can see from this areo image the actual truck has a longer hood than that sketch. You can't make out the actual lines of course, but you can see the basic proportions in this aero graphic.
I have so many questions lol.
The hybrid battery has nothing to do with deep sleep issues, that's the 12v, and the Ecoboost has the same issue. Charging $900 to replace a 12v battery when all they're doing is swapping the battery in and resetting the BMS is fucking insane. That literally just...
Yep, plus with that mid-gate image shown in the patent, you would probably have 6-8 ft of total bed space without needing to drop the tailgate, and while having the ability to transport 5 passengers when you need to. A much better solution than just bringing back a 2 door truck imo.
I believe...
Overall, I like it. Not in terms of loving the appearance specifically, but with how incredibly practical that looks. Shorter hood than a maverick, massive cab space, and a crap ton of bed storage, especially if this mid-gate makes it to production, which is likely.
This might not be the...
That's what I decided to do, and the more noticable rattles seem to have gone away. Don't want to jinx myself but it's been about a month and nothing so far.
