I worked in the car business 20+ years, and never saw anything like what's going on now. Yes, it absolutely sucks from a consumer point of view. All we can hope for is that, when this nonsense finally comes to an end and the dealers are hurting for business, we get to say, "paybacks are hell."
Van Bortel Ford in East Rochester is one of the best; I know, I worked for them before retiring. I ordered my 2023 last September, it will be arriving next week and I'll pick it up Memorial Day weekend. Straight-forward pricing and business practices across the board. How many dealers do you...
Assuming things haven't changed since I was selling the only way you'll get a Maverick is to order it from the highest-volume dealership you can find. The big boys get allocated the most vehicles; I sometimes wonder how the little guys stay in business.
My reply was based on Ford's online specs that state the hybrid's fuel tank size as precisely 13.8 gallons. You'd think if it also had a 2.7 gallon reserve tank, that they would tell you that in the specs.
I would be careful about running that low on fuel. I was told by several techs that the in-tank electric fuel pump is supposed to be immersed in fuel to keep it cool. Running that low can expose the pump and cause it to overheat, seriously reducing its lifespan.
Mine shipped 4/26, ETA in Rochester, NY 5/5-5/18. I worked for Ford a number of years ago, and these figures were rarely accurate, due to Conrail and their antiquated systems. Hopefully, they've been improved upon.
Hot Pepper Red XLT Hybrid built April 19th, shipped with ETA of May 15th-19th. Ordered September 27th, 2022. Flying up to Rochester, NY end of the month to get it, 1300 mile leisurely drive back to FL. Can't wait!
Things may have changed, but when I worked for Ford sold orders were price-protected. As for the sticker, they could only print the price that was in effect as the truck was coming off the assembly line; you should speak with your dealer.
I'm getting mine from the dealership I used to work for. Not D-plan, but below MSRP. Let's just say they're making it worth my while to drive from Florida to New York... ;)
My apologies if this has already been asked, but for those of you that have purchased a Maverick: would you be willing to post your vehicle's MSRP and what you actually paid? Not trying to stir up a hornets nest, just curious as to where the actual market is right now. I'm first on my dealer's...
Most banks have a minimum of $5,000, Ford Credit may be in that ballpark. I doubt you'll get a straight answer directly from them, they would only talk to the dealers on matters like this (I was a Ford salesperson from 1995-2016).
Not saying this is you, just an observation from working in the car business for many years:
Had a real estate agent as a service customer, always complaining about her lousy mileage. Never found anything wrong with her vehicle, asked if she practiced any bad habits (jackrabbit starts and...
Getting an extended warranty on a Range Rover made a whole lot of sense until the prices went through the roof. I hesitated to buy a Canon Pixma printer known to have issues in its second year, until I found out Walmart would sell it with a 3-year extended warranty for $24.00. And what Cadillac...
