Thanks! Look for the art of Derek DeYoung, who has a gallery in Montana. He paints fish so large as to make the spots look like abstract art. He licenses SCS Wraps in Bozeman to reproduce his work for boats and what all. Mine is one of his abstract brown trout flanks.
Welllllll, I’ve been up and down some reeeeeaaaaallllyyyy crappy boat launches with this rig.
And friends, do the environment a favor and don’t drive through trout streams.
I should clarify, the previous vehicle was an SUV with the rear facing camera placed much higher than the tailgate cam on the Mav. So, if I topped my Mav, I would want the camera up on the topper.
Currently, all I can see is boat when backing down the ramp.
I know I took a long time to come around to the topic at hand in this thread, so thanks to those who read to the end. @Bob The Builder, sorry if it seemed like a thread jack.
Most got the gist of what I am saying, which was our letters from Ford send us in to the dealers who may or may not fix...
My truck and I went to the dealer today for an oil change. After about 5k miles, the display kept saying I needed an oil change soon. The app said my oil was at 5% life. I would have expected 7-10K miles on synthetic oil in a hybrid, but, whatever.
The app also said there were two open CS...
My previous vehicle had the option of using the rear facing camera connected to the rear view mirror. I would be tempted to add a mod like that to a topped or racked Mav for better backing and towing. Could you wire that through your topper?
I am considering those tires. Trying to check the plus/minus columns on noise, weight and mileage cost in the 8 months of year that I’m not slip slidin’ away on gravel or snow.
Very nice build, by the way. I especially envy your kitchen kit.
I know what you mean. I watch the hood waffling every time I go under the car wash dryers.
To the OP’s point, I need the exercise, so I park far away. But prevention of that sort didn’t help me when I was in my own garage trying to unload groceries and lost my grip on the door with that one...
A nice little back up camera on the boat itself would help me. My trailers are both pretty short and all I can see from the tailgate cam is boat.
The side view mirrors are all that are helpful to me. My boats are much lighter than yours, so I applaud your experiments on behalf of the team.
Coincidentally, my 22 Mav XL Hybrid had some trouble pulling my light weight trailer and raft out of a sandy river landing a couple days ago and I was thinking of replacing the stock Continentals again. I think about it every time I read a tire post here. But the dealer said my tread looked...
