Update: Purchased the cover through accessories.ford.com February 10, 2022. Picked up conversation on February 16, 2022. Installed cover and had good service until it got hot a few months later. The adhesive holding the felt straps, to the underside, that protect your hands from touching the...

Not trying to be political, just factual. It's not only the bureaucrats, it's also the techno wonks designing the e-systems. Many are mere e-Fools who don't have and interest in the physical and mental act of driving and/or riding a motorcycle. While old in years, am not a tech hater, was a...

Yes, still own truck, have 42K+ miles now. Trans seems to be OK. Do notice a lot of wireless communication activity occurring, when the truck is in my garage, and able to connect to the internet. May be possible Ford is actively monitoring this repair for diagnostic purposes. Also stay on...
  4. 8 speed transmission problems

ā€œStill do not like the e-Trans rotary knob shifting, would much prefer a detent shifter that allowed immediate downshifting to provide deceleration.ā€ Think my statement was a two part request, first for a detent shifter, and the second part was that it would allow immediate downshifting to...

40K MILE UPDATE - Trans still operational. Did notice some hiccups around 35K miles, had Fairway Ford check it out and do a service recall (01/30-31/2024). Found 1 fault code, BCM lost communication with GSM. Service tech "Did a 'Line C', shop manager road tested, concern was not duplicated"...
  7. Harbor freight tailgate step ladder...

Tried a similar (more expensive) product and wasn't satisfied with the way it mounted. You have to select one side to mount, or buy two mounting bases. Then you have, one or two, protrusions sticking up on your tailgate to interfere with loading/unloading. Ended up removing it and using this...
  8. Tonneau Cover Selection

Don't know your budget for a cover, but have used DiamondBack covers my previous trucks, and found them to be extremely well made and useful. Probably the most secure cover available, and can take a good load on top as well. Might be assets that would be beneficial for your usage. Good luck...

Have only owned one Mav, but 3 CB5X, 2014, 2016 & 2019 which is best of bunch. For a brief period, had all 3 at the same time. Mav and CB5X work well together, both are all purpose, all road vehicles that are fun to drive/ride.

33,000 miles: Just replaced the OEM tires and thought I'd post an update. Have operated in 'Normal' mode for most of those miles. • Transmission operating OK. • Still don't like shifting with a rotary dial knob on the console! • Found using the 'Towing' mode will allow for a bit more engine...

Cannot confirm 'red tape' action, but reading the repair ticket might lead to that conclusion. When I asked service rep what they found, he stated they did not open the transmission, just replaced it. The info below is from the repair ticket for the work. Ɨ1*12*QULV OIL - AUTOMATIC...

  18. 8 speed transmission problems

Don’t believe I’ve been unreasonable with any of my comments. Just can’t understand why service is not available at all Ford authorized dealerships. Is this our future, partial service dealers? Be cause this was first run vehicle, got the premiere factory extended warranty in case extended...

  20. Update : Video My own transmission issues high revv no movement

First dealer, my local Ford dealer I use for service, could not provide transmission service as they did not currently have a factory certified tech on staff. This necessitated going to another location, quite bit farther away. And you are correct, they have backlog of work. Makes one pine...
