My complaint is the difficulty in separating them also. PITA for sure.

THIS. I ignored the written instructions and leaned on the video. Actually, once you've installed the driver's side, the rest of the install falls into place intuitively. They include 5 zip ties, which I certainly suggest adding to so that your wiring is properly ticked away.

This reflects my experience as well -- a perfect fit requiring a firm touch to install. I read one review on Amazon indicating poor fitment, but that was simply not the case for me.
