I spoke with the collision company. They said the damage was more severe because I wasnāt hit directly from behind, but rather on the back corner. If I were hit directly from behind, the trailer hitch wouldāve received the impact and itās designed to crumple without affecting the unibody frame...
Itās because the main frame gets damaged on the unibody. Itās not just the Maverick.
Actually if anything, the Maverick is the best truck to have when it does get totalled since the actual cash value (or fair market value) is so high. This winds up giving you a higher % of the vehicleās brand...
I also suspect the same thing. Every accident seems to be total loss these days. On the whole, it seems to benefit the insurance companies. I bet you they just fix up the āsevereā damage and it winds up costing them less than the damage repair estimate, then they sell the truck for profit either...
He couldnāt even drive away from the accident scene because his truck had too much front end damage. It didnāt LOOK like it. The impact was only about 10-12 mph. But there must have been unseen damage inside.
Meanwhile me and my Mav were able to drive home no problem.

1) city versus highway time ā the people you see getting ridiculous mpg like 50+ are all driving mostly city, whereas the people getting lower 30s...
I would reach 600 miles per tank if it werenāt for the fact that more than half my miles are at speeds higher than 80 mph. So no. No 600 mile club for me.
To me it seems justā¦wrongā¦to have the luxury of changing oil every 10k miles. But thatās what the manual says. I did go with full synthetic. I figure with such an infrequent interval, who cares if itās expensive.
I also rotated the tires for first time. I used to do it every 5k. But some...
