Called Ford today and learned my XL hybrid with no options ( ordered Sept 22 ) is in production. They couldn't give me a date of when it might be finished and shipped. Any guesstimates out there?

The reason I like the steelies is because they don't have the Crown Vic look while wheels painted black do. You need a contrast/break between a black wheel and a black tire.

The picture looks pretty normal. I'd wipe it clean, keep the bottom cover off and place a piece of white poster board underneath over night.

I'm an artist but I see no visual improvement with the addition of smoked taillights. If they were body color it might offer a more unique look. But if the idea is to just add something to be different from the crowd I get it.

I might add that not all bikes have wheels that are easy to remove.

I won't be removing wheels to haul a bike. There are better solutions.

Silicone spray on the rubber window seals can work if the glass is sticking. If not the actuator probably needs replacing.

IMO the XL silver steel wheels are the best match for an iconic silver Maverick. With tons more XLT's on the road the XL is somewhat unique. I plan to add beauty rings and chrome spray the center caps to match. Other reasons I ordered the XL rather than the XLT is I dislike the XLT's silly...

I'd be ok with it if you added beauty rings to break up the black and add contrast between wheel and tire. As is, it looks cop car cheap.

You need contrast between wheel and tire. All black just doesn't cut it.

You could pop most of the dent out with suction.

One reason I ordered the XL was because it came with the old school steelies. The chrome rings I plan to add will be the cherry on top. Different strokes.......

The problem with black wheels is there's no contrast between wheel and tire. It's hard to see where the tire starts and the wheel begins. You can buy red piping that adheres to the rim lip which would improve the looks.

Growing up in the 1960's we went to great lengths to avoid black wheels. I guess chrome wheels have gone the way of the dinosaur. How times change.

Just tired of waiting. Maybe you're into delayed gratification but that's not me.
