  1. Cabin air filter screen?

I just find it hard to believe that metal screening can't be incorporated into the ventilation system. Seems like it would cost pennies...and those would translate to dollars I would be happy to spend.
  2. Cabin air filter screen?

Saw a pile of chewed up black and blue foam on the passenger floor mat. Found these cute little fellers on top of the cabin air filter. A: are there any filters that incorporate a metal screen on top or do you have a home made solution? And B: Why don't manufacturers incorporate some kind of...
  3. What vehicle did you come out of B4 your Mav?

1997 Sierra I've owned for 21 years. Keeping it to get mulch, lumber, big dump runs etc. What I save in gas should pay for the basic insurance to keep it.
  4. can i drive a hybrid into the ground?

I looked under the bed and also noticed a wiring connector or two under there that seem unprotected/unwrapped with tape. The pins in those connectors could corrode pretty easily, wonder if Ford put any silicone past in first.
  5. ⚠️ Recall 23S27 & Delivery Hold on 2.5L Maverick Hybrids for Under Hood Fire (Notice Date 5/31/23)

Probably asked before, but has anyone permanently removed the belly pan on the truck? Is it just for aerodynamics and MPGs or does it actually protect something and is therefore essential? Eliminating the chance or pooling oil seems like a start in preventing a fire.
  6. Hybrid Catalytic converter stole in transit

My dealer offered a service where they etch the VIN into the cat and it would be traceable if stolen. I declined as I'm sure a thief would just take a grinder to the number.
  7. can i drive a hybrid into the ground?

I just got the hybrid as well. It's to replace a 1997 Sierra that has 115K miles on it. I oil undercoat the Sierra every year, it has new intake manifold gaskets, fuel injectors, starter, tires, alternator, and it runs like a top. I thought THAT would be my last truck because it's something I...
  8. My Ford Maverick EcoBoost caught on fire and exploded!!! 🔥

Oil sprayed UP says a turbo was leaking and spraying the oil from too much crankcase pressure. Too much oil, wrong oil, restriction in oil journals....If I were to see smoke from under the hood I'd call triple A.
  9. Hybrid was worth the 14 month wait.

First trip today in our 2023 Hybrid XL and all I can say is 'wow.' Nice handling, nice ride and the MPGs are incredible. It was a long wait but my dealer didn't charge more on factory orders and I can see a lot of you paid several thousand over MSRP so the wait doesn't bother me.
