Thanks for the reply, unfortunately 225/70-17 doesn't seem to exist - 0 results on tire rack. 235/70-17 does though.
I'll probably just go with 235/65-17 and go with Cooper AT3 or the wild peak's then.
What kind of gas mileage have you been seeing in the 245/65's?
Obviously 235-65-17 is fine as it comes OEM.
I see lots of posts about the 245-65-17's seemingly working out, which end up with a diameter of (29.5", 3.6% change from stock 225 ).
Seeing as I am interested in added height more than width I was curious about either a 225-70-17 (29.4" Diameter...
Yeah good call. I do have a hitch extender already that is pretty similar to the goalpost, I will primarily be using it when I have 8-10' lumber that I don't feel like securing to the top of the bed rails. The one I have can go vertical to match the roof or parallel to the bed to extend truck...

Yeah I hear you, those are the same issues I have with the Thule as well.
A new option I discovered today is the Elevate Rack system by Truxedo, they developed a t-slot rail that clamps on the inner sides of the bed so no drilling.
it can be installed with a tonneau at the same time, works...
Not with that one. I’ve been researching this ALOT as I want a rack with tonneau as well and as far as I can tell their are only two methods out there for bed racks that work with tonneau covers.
1 - retractable tonneaus that have built in t-slot rails on the top across both sides that can...
Picking my Lariat up on Tuesday and I already ordered the Bak X4s which is a hard roll up. It was expensive but it’s supposed to be one of the best. And even fully open you can still see out of the back window, which seems ideal to me.
the other thing to note is that if you want to do a bed...
