I have a friend that buys lots of stuff from Temu. Most of it is crap. Pay close attention to the description or you might get a “pocketknife” an inch long. Or a spinning reel the size of a coffee can.
Here’s the translation for the above post:
Good evening, I live in Brazil and I have a Maverick Lariat FX4 2023 with 2 months of use. I noticed this noise, I took it to the Ford dealership and they can't tell me what it is and they're lost. The noise is driving me crazy. Has anyone figured out...
Earlier this afternoon I utilized my precision crafted index fingernail to lift the corner of the dealership’s ugly decal, then gently pulled on it and it came off in three pieces. The little dab of adhesive goop left was easily removed with WD40 and a rag. Then a quick Turtle wax application...
“Then you "really" DIDN'T order one. Our dealer, who IS reputable, required a $1,000 deposit.”
Not necessarily. I placed an order online with Michael John at O’Meara Ford, in Northglenn Colorado without putting down a deposit. About 2 weeks ago I picked the Maverick up.
I know two people locally who had pickups totaled from hitting deer this year. One Tacoma and one Silverado. Both hit at 75mph. Glad your airbags weren’t needed.
He’s full of bologna. Several states have speed limits of 80 and even 85, so 80 isn’t inherently “unsafe”.
Next time you take it in, try a different dealership, as was suggested earlier. And make darn sure they get the issue written down correctly, of course.
I believe one of these cordless 1/2” drive impact wrenches, a 5amp battery, and the appropriate size socket will be more than adequate to handle the jack turning and lug nut removal. I’ve used it on my other trucks. DeWalt DCF900P1.
Pretty much the only reasons I bought a Maverick were the Hybrid’s fuel efficiency, adequate ground clearance, and the low initial cost. I had no interest in the EB model and still don’t.
The dealer I ordered from, O’Meara Ford in Northglenn, Colorado, didn’t require a deposit and they didn’t add on any bogus crap like a “protection package” or pinstriping, or an $800 doodad to track my Maverick. And O’Meara kept me apprised of my Maverick’s progress throughout the 11 month wait...
I think I would go down there in person and see what they’ll do to make things right. And if they refuse to make things right, post the facts of your experience on facebook, Google reviews, Yelp, etc. to warn other potential customers about the dealership’s unscrupulous business practices.
