Mine has gone off once. When a vehicle in the lane next to, and just ahead of me suddenly slowed down. Scared the crap out of me! I didn't immediately realize what my Maverick was doing.
My previous two vehicles have had crash avoidance systems, but they never activated.
Here's a photo that shows the different grills on the Lariat (L) XLT (R). Clearly different. Don't pay a lot of attention to the headlights, as the XLT is covered in condensation, so the lights aren't very visible. Photo credit: DragonSpirit76

I just noticed this morning that there is a "Search Inventory" link on the ford.com site under Maverick. It used to only show an option to build and price. I clicked on it and searched within 100 miles of my ZIP code in S Florida, and it returned 18 vehicles. Four appear to by hybrids, 14 are...
Wow! It seems these companies are all over the board on valuations/offers. Although I have no intent to sell it, I ran my AWD XL through Vroom last week. It had 200 miles on it at the time. They only offered me $25,000, which is $435 below MSRP. I'm in Florida too. Crazy times.
There was a report somewhere (not sure of the accuracy) that Ford is considering making Maverick a sub-brand. If that were true, this vehicle wouldn't be a stretch. It doesn't interest me, but I imagine a lot of folks would find it appealing, depending on the asking price.
What is it about (s-o-m-e) car sales people who think they have to make shit up when they don't know the answer to a customer's question? Is it really that difficult to say "Hey, I don't know. Let me do some investigating and get back to you."??
The biggest thing I'm giving up, that I can't replace, is the power outlet in the bed. I'm bummed that I won't get that. I feel like most of the other XLT Lux-specific items are either cold weather-related, or are obtainable, either as stand-alone options or accessories.
I probably wouldn't...
I wasn't aware of this information. But according to the few random articles I read, it seems all manufacturers are using wires with soy-based insulation, and have been for 10 or more years. It seems like the horse (er...squirrel) is out of the barn on this one. I can't imagine the practice...
Matt states at the beginning of the video that the Area 51 truck is all wheel drive. I'm guessing the owner must have removed the "AWD" badge from the tailgate.
The image quality is certainly good enough to see a trash can or a tricycle or an other vehicle. I don't expect the camera to do any more than that, so I'd say it does its job. Is it the best backup camera resolution I've ever seen? No. Is it a problem for me? Not at all.
I changed my order from an XLT Lux to a Lariat non-lux about a week ago. Watching this video reinforces my decision. I prefer the Lariat interior colors and finishes, especially with the Alto Blue paint color I ordered. The sound insulated windshield and push button start are definitely nice...
I insure with Progressive, and they specifically asked if the vehicle has blind spot monitoring (which it does, since it has the co-pilot 360 package), when I added my Maverick to my policy. I presume they asked because it affects the rate. Now I'm curious. I'm going to call them and find...
Came across this carvana listing for a 2011 Ranger Sport for $20,990. Although it only has 64,600 miles, and appears to be in ok condition, they are asking $20,990! That's just a hair below what the MSRP was when it was new 10 years ago ($22,425). And it's already on hold. If that doesn't...
Somebody in the parts department at Tasca Ford doesn't know how to load pricing. I checked accessories for several Ford models for MY '20, '21 and '22 and every item I looked at was listed at exactly double the MSRP. It's got to be an input error.
Hello All. I picked up my carbonized gray Maverick XL 2.0 EB in Fort Myers a couple of days ago. It's weird to buy a vehicle sight unseen, but I'm happy with the truck so far! I know a lot of folks have still not been able to get their eyes and hands on a Maverick yet, so I thought I'd offer...
Bronco Sport production numbers fell off a cliff in November compared to the past several months. Same story with Escape numbers. Hoping Ford is allocating scarce resources (read chips) to Maverick production.
No thanks. I bought a standard cab S-10 many years ago. I liked the truck but its limitations in securing items inside the cab from weather and thieves convinced me that I don't really want another standard bed truck. Even items as small as a gym bag or groceries became a hassle if I was...
I paid a deposit on a Hyundai Ioniq 5 back on June 3rd (just a few days before Ford formally debuted the Maverick). Hyundai still have not provided a firm release date or even given US customers any indication of pricing. As the months pass, the launch continues to be delayed, and the chip...
