Update to original post. I'm retired Ford dealer tech of many years. Picked up truck from dealer yesterday. Was in for battery concern and another concern which is another post.
Battery tested good 3 times while there , by Ford test equipment . Which will slant to Ford. I know the battery is...
Yes I know about the Hybrid battery concerns. This only started when temps drop below 40 deg F.
No software updates available. AGM battery in truck and tests good. Truck never sits for more than 2-3 days.
Having low battery concern at temps below 40 deg. Problem appears to be related to windshield heater for camera. Receive message on Ford Pass that remote features turned off due to low battery. found battery down to 50 %. Noted snow melting 3 hrs after turning off truck. Problem intermittent...
evap codes can be hard to diag. Do you top off the tank? can create codes. cold temps can cause o rings to not seal properly. to do proper diag rec 1/2 a tank at 70 degs . you run diag with scan tool to monitor everything. good luck
Being a retire Ford dealer tech , finding quality and trained techs is not easy task today. Less and less people are becoming techs. Takes years of training to be certified to do the repairs. If the Tech is not certified in that area Ford will not pay the dealer. The techs buy there own tools...
As a retired Ford dealer tech I have seen a lot of turbos going bad at 60k due to high mileage oil changes. Turbos generate a lot of heat thus braking down the oil. I had a 2011 f150 3.5L eco never had a problem. I have changed my oil at 3500 to 4000k miles. I have used Mobil 1 full syn for...
Update
Went to the dealer today for my vibration. Road tested, load forced balanced tires: 1st tire 10lbs. 2nd tire 20lbs. 3rd tire 27lbs . 4th tire 36lbs. Needless to say replaced 3 tires and balanced. Much better ride. still some vibration. A bit hard to road test in pouring rain. will drive...
Ethanol free gas ,will have a blue handle at the pumps . Go to website Puregas.com to find it near you.
Not every station has it. The closest one to me is 25 miles. Drive past it 3 or 4 times a week. It is the only fuel I use in my mower , pressure washer, string trimmer. All run better.
Fuel varies greatly around the country. I have owned several ecoboost engines and 89 is the octane I will use. I have been a tech for 50 years , dealer for most of the time. I have monitored fuel mileage with test equipment and there is a difference in fuel.
89 for me is middle ground . 93...
Have used 87 , 89 93. and 90 Rv gas. 87 is junk, 93 is better smoother running , 90 Rv runs great best fuel mileage. For over all driving 89 is my choice, If towing or long trip 93 would be my choice. 90 RV will be for play time , high cost.
