  1. How does Ford calculate total Horsepower and Torque for the 2.5l Hybrid?

The peak power levels of each system aren't available at the same time. Electric has more torque at low RPM where Atkinson has less. Plus the manufacturer may be limiting the total power so they don't have to make a heavier heavy duty part.
  2. Did you pick FWD or AWD Maverick and why?

FWD. Not taking it off road, and FWD with traction control is good enough for the snow we get.
  3. What's your engine Breaking-In Period plan?

I'll trust Ford's light, and I won't try to race anyone for the first 1000 miles or so.
  4. Before Maverick, what were you looking at?

A Civic and a tiny trailer.
  5. navigation

I've seen that or something similar, but only crowdfunded. Every crowdfunded thing I've done has been a disappointment.
  6. Does anyone recall how cool dual fuel tanks use to be?

Had an Econoline with dual tanks. I'd often use two different pumps to speed up the process. More than once I'd go in to find a panicked clerk looking for the drive-off, and very relieved when I'd say "Pumps 3 and 4".
  7. Are you paying Added Dealer Markup (ADM) on your Maverick?

Nearest dealer didn't add markup, doc fee was $250. I wouldn't have minded a refundable deposit, they didn't ask for one. If there was a markup or a high doc fee, there's a couple of other dealers nearby I'd have gone to.
  8. Ranger argument is getting old

I don't need a mid size or bigger truck, I need a sedan that will haul a couple of bicycles or a few sheets of drywall in the trunk. I'd rather a Maverick even if there wasn't a price difference.
  9. Fighting over options with spouses?

Before I knew anything about the Maverick, we were trying to figure out how to replace Wife's ancient Ranger with a compact sedan while still getting the little bit of truck stuff done. We had pretty much decided "put a hitch on a Civic" when I saw the Doug Demuro video on the Maverick. I'm...
  10. How long do you keep your vehicles?

I've owned cars since 1982. Until my new 2018, the most I'd spent on a car was $2600, drove that one for 7 years. The tentative plan now is to replace one of our two cars every 5 years or so depending on reliability and how much better the latest vehicles are.
  11. Todays perception of power

We have a Honda Fit with 128hp, and a 98 Ranger automatic that was about 120hp new, I'm pretty sure some of those are missing. The only time merging is a problem is when there's some idiot ahead that doesn't accelerate until they are 10 feet from the end of the ramp.
  12. Current old car problems - fix or trade-in?

I'd get it fixed--broken It will drop the value you'll get when you sell, you'll get to use the fixed part until then and you're going to need heat. (and a troubleshooting question--have you tried it on max? I almost never use max, I've had more than one car lose all the lower speeds but...
  13. Young Buyer; I would like your opinion...

Don't know how close our use cases are, but here goes: I've got more confidence in the E-CVT than I do the 8 speed--plus it's covered by the 8 year 100,000 mile hybrid parts warranty (this is based largely on a video from the same guy as the one that Row Jimmy just posted above). I doubt...
  14. Which Maverick trim model did you get and why?

Hybrid Lariat Luxury in Area 51, no standalone options. Maverick, because this appears as if someone quizzed me about what I'd want in a vehicle and how much I'd be willing to pay and then designed one to match. Initially ordered an Ecoboost due to not understanding the difference between...
  15. Ohio Roll Call

I'm in Piqua, ordered last week from Sidney. No deposit, doc fee was about what I'd seen others report.
  16. What are you trading in / selling for your Maverick??

Selling Wife's 98 Ranger, she's going to take my 18 Honda Fit and I'll get the Maverick. We almost went with an XLT for her and I'd keep the Fit because adaptive cruise is a dealbreaker for me.
