I run top tier 91 or 93 depending on where I'm fueling. Used 89 a couple times. I work on euro stuff, I haven't driven anything that shifts this weird unless I'm working on a tranny issue. No reason to feel shifts in a 22 or newer 8spd gearbox. Evoques use the Ecoboost and drive completely...
Cold this thing is even worse. Getting a list together showing something is wrong is why I started another thread about what some versions of this truck does.
I see another thread with an owner having "issues" with acceleration and calling it turbo lag or transmission related.
Lets see who has these complaints, and what version of truck you have. I think almost everyone who has mentioned it has an AWD EB.
What seems to be causing it is the torque...
I run 91 or 93, depends on what the station has. When prices spike I've put 89 in a couple times. I aldo only use top tier fuels (because of DI). I run ethanol free in my other cars (more expensive than 93) and came from a truck that got 12mpg. so I'm still running cheaper than I've become...
I had my windshield replaced @4k, (ford glass) now at 13k and I've had 2 chips repaired. I've also noticed the glass is looking badly etched already in bright sunlight. I had a Jetta from FL with 250k, and the windshield was about the same. In over 30 years of driving, I've had one other chip...
I had mine at the dealership for the second light bcm recall, I talked to the techs and the foreman. (I'm a euro mechanic, this may also be why the mav shifts upset me so much) I was told it drives like they all do. I'm starting to think that whatever is wrong with this truck isn't tranny...
Was digging around trying to find out what a tune would do to the selectable drive modes and found this. I had the same complaint. 23 4k fx4. And why I'm looking into a tune. (so if anyone can tell me what the livernois tune does to drive modes...)
Its like the truck is second guessing how...
23 eco fx4, 4k.
Interested in a tune from livernois (cobb is sort of in play) and have some questions from a mechanic (but never dealt with a tune) standpoint.
What happens with the selectable drive modes? (I have unlocked sport and eco fwiw but rarely change them)
They say I'll get a tune and...
A call for warranty should take care of it. Your leak is probably where the glue seal ends meet. That's the leak I noticed and it wasn't "the big one" I had.
Huh? I can't/won't go into a customers car and change timeouts to suit making a draw test something different than they (the owner) has set. Unplugging shit in lighter sockets will happen if the car has ports that are always hot. If there is something large and obvious I'll unplug it, but...
If I don't have published information for sleep times I assume an hour anymore. I won't change a customers settings to make a things change differently.
Most vehicles will ignore a hood when setting an alarm, or will ignore it after a period of time. So it could slightly extend the sleep time or have a higher draw show until X module sleeps while not affecting sleep time. You could set something on the button or just trip the latch closed to...
Anyone notice this in "normal" mode? Not noticed in other modes (fx4, eco and sport modes unlocked)
When I first picked the truck up I noticed the tip in throttle response would be highly variable. One time it downshifts and goes, the next maybe a slower response or a lag, but in eco mode it...
Just adding in here, I've never had a "bad" LED in the shop. What fails is either the driver module, or most often the lamps get moisture inside them (they don't get hot like halogen does) and the boards/wiring/terminals rot away. Letting them be on isn't going to end them sooner. I am not a...
I'm impressed with the auto high beams in general, but they come on too early for my liking.
I've noticed they cut in around 33mph. Anyone find something related to speed that can be changed? I'd like to push that up to the to higher 40s.
I haven't tried it with the mav but I have the same(ish) setup. I bought a stacked receiver and put the winch on top. I used it to pull dead cars on a tow dolly or dead garden tractors or my hit-miss engine on a trailer.
The cowl diverts water to the sides of the engine bay and out over the top of the wheels. Anything that could get under the cowl either around the wiper arms or just leaking by the edges of the cowl will drain through a valve in the bottom of the firewall area at the center of the windshield...
For those curious: On an EB with FX4 and 4k the AWD module is on the passenger floor under the seat. There are no modules mounted on the driver floor. The invertor and SRS module are on the tunnel under the center console, any of them could drink a coffee or redbull spilled on the shifter...
