It's a GREAT day! So excited and relieved after a long wait.
Today I finally got to upgrade my crumbling 2003 Pontiac Vibe to a fresh 2023 Ford Maverick!
2023 XLT Hybrid w/ PIF Film and Tow Hitch
314 Days
Relieved to buy at MSRP!
I dropped the bed-liner, cover, and mudflaps 3 months in. No...
Closer to the build mine shifted the date multiple times but roughly within the same week. There are alot of unknowns. So you can assume it to be largely accurate but at the end of the day changes happen and we don't know why.
It might happen sooner than later for other vehicles but I don't see that happening for the Maverick any time soon. We are stuck in an ugly loop.
Dealers are adding Market adjustments because Mavericks are rare.
Because of Market adjustments people are doing custom orders in hopes of paying...
I have a feeling most Maverick orders are from proactive customers independently selling themselves on the vehicle and then just randomly picking a dealer to fill the order which could explain the non predictable trends. I don't think most dealers are proactively selling customers on the...
These order agreements are pretty flimsy. It's hard to legally agree on MSRP and hold the dealer to it because these agreements don't guarantee you a Maverick and you don't guarantee to pay. COVP is the only method that "should" assure you that YOUR order is offered to you for sale first. But...
I wouldn't call him a risk either, nor did I mean to imply whining.
But as a 3rd party journalist and not a corporate Ford employee Tim currently has the flexibility to be more open and blunt about the existing issues we care about. As an employee his facts and analysis would be restrained until...
With perhaps some rare instances I don't think stock Mavericks exist.
I think your best bet is to call every dealer you are willing to buy from, expand you search area even farther, ask about whether they do Markups, get on their waiting list and just wait to see what becomes available...
Ford has a bunch of rollover orders from 2023 which they said would have priority Nov - Feb. Add in a 1 month delivery window to PA and your absolute earliest possible arrival is March. So if you are worried about it arriving too soon you are well in the clear. After that when it gets scheduled...
If Tim had to officially represent corporate Ford then Tim's helpfulness would dramatically decrease. You don't get to be a paid Ford influencer who also gets to complain about the broken systems nor release critical product details before Ford approves of it. He could certainly bring value to...
Sorry to hear that. The dealer's attitude is beyond unprofessional. If the argument comes down to disclosure then the burden is on him to provide a paper with that disclosure which you signed. If you didn't sign such a thing then it wasn't disclosed.
If the argument is whether the dealer can...
You will be prioritized as a rollover. Get what you want.
Ford said they would build all of the rollovers with a few rare exceptions. Your order is pretty straight forward as long as your dealer has their act together.
Prices might have increased but the used car market hasn't significantly dropped. The Maverick remains one of the most economical truck/hybrid options on the market, and awareness of it has only grown. The demand isn't going away.
How long Ford's servers spend choking on order submissions will...
2023 XLT Hybrid w Protective Film and Hitch (dropped the tonneau and SIBL mid order - did that help? No idea.).
Built after 9.5 months.
If delivery estimate is accurate I will yet have it after 10.5 months.
Unless you find one on a lot I don't think anything will make the process fast or easy...
The wording suggests that once you are scheduled for MY23 Ford will actively work with the dealer to remove your duplicate MY24 order from the system. So if you are scheduled already they likely won't create a "rollover" order for you.
I'm sure plenty of dealers work that way and deliver without issue.
For me, in this environment where getting a Maverick and getting MSRP was uncertain I was a fan of having a deposit. It guaranteed me nothing. But if down the road I needed to challenge the dealer's integrity it's easier to...
Did you put in a deposit? If you're ordering from someone who doesn't need a deposit I would question how seriously they take your order. Some get away with it but that's me.
I don't think being in person functionally matters as long as they do proper COVP and provide copies of the paper work...
Everything about this announcement is positive and understanding.
You have 2.5 weeks to get into your dealer to put an order in for your dealer to submit on day 1.
Even if you show up on the last day the banks are open Ford just said you will your status will bump you to the front of the line...
What phone do you have? For a fair number of years more recent Android phones should in fact do what you are asking. I'm pretty sure its an Android OS feature rather than custom phone manufacturer software.
Also, what makes you think it is overcharging?
I never received any Ford emails. I gave the dealer my email but my impression was that it was their policy to not sign customers up for these automated emails and assumed themselves to be the primary source of notification to the customer.
Regardless, I followed MTC to understand the broad...
