I used a trim piece remover. There are two clips, one on the left and one on the right. I started on the left and gently worked the tool under the lip of the headlight switch and it released the clip and allowed me to remove the switch from the dash.
We worked on reprogramming the truck yesterday. Writing the required BCM changes worked correctly when the key is in the on position. It is interesting to note that we were able to write to the IPC module with the truck key in the accessory position. I am still inexperienced at using this...
I find it amazing that sometimes it can be the simplest resolution for an unusual problem. We were able to change the IPC settings without a problem. When we changed the BCM module and attempted to write the changes, Forscan disconnected from the truck. I researched this tonight and found the...
I am assuming that the fog lamps and brackets that you are purchasing will include a wiring harness that connects both fog lamps to the DD relay. In this circumstance, I would think that using 1 pin to connect to the included relay input would be sufficient. The only time I can see adding both...
I assisted Larry with the fog light wiring change today for the Diode Dynamic fog light kit. It was initially installed per the instructions received from Diode Dynamic. The toggle switch was wired and placed under the dash. The F-150 headlight switch, (part number in the first post), was...
Congratulations on having your truck shipped. I spent my final weeks researching accessories for my new truck. I applied for the Ford Pass credit card a few months before it arrived and used my normal purchases to build up my Ford Pass points. It helped me to receive a few additional upgrades...
The video is crisp and clear. I like that. The wide view angle is what I hoped it would be. Thank you for posting it here. I have already received the system and cannot return it without paying the 25% restocking fee and pay for shipping it back. I bought it at a discounted price to begin...
I appreciate the information in your post. Your humorous comment made me smile. I will utilize your tip about protecting the trim with tape. I do not want to scratch any of the trim in this project.
Thank you for the information. My brother has not purchased his dash cam system yet. All of your information is going to help him make a better choice when he purchases one for his truck.
That is good news. I am happy that this issue is being worked on by the manufacturer. It will be interesting to see what affect this has on the Ford accessories websites for the different dealerships. I will wait and see what happens and what the price will be for the OBD III cable. Now that...
Thank you for your reply. I purchased the kit from a out of state Ford dealership at a reduced price. I checked on returning it, but they require a 25% restocking fee. I will be content and install the dash cam system. I will use the OBD II cable they sent and strip the wiring parts I need...
That is what I am thinking at this point and time myself. The interesting thing is that the Ford Accessories website allows you to select your vehicle year, make and model, but not whether or not it is a eco boost or a hybrid. This can create an issue for individuals such as myself that will...
I purchased the recommended dash cam, part #VHL3Z-19G490-K from the Ford Accessories website. It comes with the front and rear camera and the OBD II wiring for power. I printed the 4 page installation instructions and noted that the instructions are listed for the gas engine only and electric...
Thank you. Congratulations on your purchase. The Maverick looks awesome in every color available. Your truck looks great. It was a show of respect when the B3000 moved aside to allow the Maverick to take its spot.
