The one issue I have is that if I shut off the truck and come back after grabbing something quick. I get a error message that the device is not functioning and need to unplug and re-plug. Think it is because the USB is still on for a while after shutting off.

What about just wrapping it in some foam rubber instead of cutting it?

After fighting with the plastic tool. I found that you can just push up against the headliner with the top of your fingers. Jam your fingers into the panel with both hands and pull hard downwards. And both sides of the top will pop off easy.

Search eBay for Nissan or Infiniti Homelink Mirror. Around $50 used, make sure it has a harness in the back. Not as cheap as the Kia but easy to find.

Did you trim just the bottom or the sides as well? I tucked the bottom as far as I could but still feels loose. Will pull out and trim some material.

Does the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert only detect vehicles and only when moving? On my Mazda, it would detect people, dogs, 2 seagulls fighting over some fries while stationary.
